I just installed a Fidanza short shifter and the shifter is really loose. My problem is the piece that is on the bottom on the shifter that the shifter cable hooks to is really loose is their anyway to tighten this thing up? it's like a half moon shaped so i dont really know what to call it.

Thanks

It is in the first picture the part at the bottom where the other shifter cable hooks up to. I hope some one can tell me where to get a replacement at.

ive heard alot of people breaking shift forks because the fidanza or pilot shifters have no stoppers...i want to know if anybody has tried the shifter from extreme motorsports...it supposely is a modified stock shifter with a 40% reduce throw

Any opnions on the Short Shifters that are available? I see one from Fidanza... any feedback on options for the 1G?

I havent tried a short shifter in my 1ga, but i did put the symbroski shifter bushings in and it feels 2X as good as the stock shifter, and a 2g Shift knob :sneaky:

I see that there are Shifter Base bushings and "under the hood bushings"... which ones did you do?

I got the shifter base bushings, i have yet to try under the hood bushings :talon:

I'm using the Fidanza short-throw shifter with a 2G shift knob, definitely significantly shorter, ALOT shorter.

Any negative findings? I read somewhere that it had issues with not having the "stopper" or something like that and it caused issues with getting in and out of some gears.

I ended up _not_ putting my fidanza shifter in because

1. the threads were f'ed up and I didn't have the proper tool to fix them at the time
2. the lack of a stopper is a too big of a risk given the experiences of some members of the community

The 2g shift knob is pretty nice, however. Well worth the $$

May I ask what the risks are? Is there a way to fabricate a stopper for this?

The fixes I see are either shortning the handle on the stock shifter and installing the bushings from Symborski or going with a Mofugas Shifter and installing the Symborski bushings... I see nothing on fixing the issue with the Fidanza not having a stopper.

Short shifters are fine if you don’t shift aggressively. If you do, well like the FAQ aboave states you risk breaking a shift fork without the stops

The stops are what keep you from over extending your shift forks. Basically when you over extend, you bend them and they can snap.

I suppose having steal EVO forks would help but still, you really should install some stops.

It's for taking up the slack in the OEM shifter after you do the short throw mods in the car and up front in the bay.

For the Ralliart and Fidanza shifter, you will need to weld in a small rod, or drill and tap the shaft to add a bolt that sticks out sideways and then put some type of rubber block or whatever on it to act as a stop.

Everything you need can be had at Home Depot or Lowes.
