Evo 8 retainers on BC springs????

Hey guys, working on getting my head back on after a stupid mistake on my part.

Anyways, I have evo 8 springs and retainers. I had to remove them to replace valves. I figured, with all the iffyness about them, I'd grab a set of BC springs. Bought ONLY the springs because I figured I'd just use the evo retainers to save on weight for the valve train.

I have them installed, but the retainers are smaller in diameter than the retainers as the evo 8 springs get small at the top vs. The BC springs which do not. Is it safe to run it this way? Or should I just put the evo springs back in until I get the proper retainers for the BC springs?

Use the proper retainers, don't chance a mismatched retainer that could cause a dropped valve, cracked retainer etc.

Do not run this combo. Just get a set of stock retainers, and sell the evo springs. The bc springs with stock retainers is a. Better setup anyway

Yep, I’ve turned 9,500 rpms with bc springs and stock retainers.
