So after posting this thread here (https://www.dsmtuners.com/threads/leaking-oil-from-exhaust-manifold.536100/#post-153822254) where I noticed there was oil in my exhaust manifold. I pulled the head and dropped it off at the machine shop to have it looked at. Its a 2g head that I have on a 6 bolt block. The head has BC springs and retainers put on from the person that built the engine prior to me. I forget the number on the retainers might of been 1000 or 100 or something like that. I can find out if it makes a difference.
I picked up a pair of BC 272 cams to have the machine shop install. The machine shop found some of the exhaust guides are out of spec which is probably the cause of my oil leaking into the exhaust manifold. I want to have them put new valve guides in and seals and was dead set on having them order Viton seals which from what I see on here, most people like to use those as they have higher heat resistance. However as I was ready to order them, I saw someone say in the reviews these are good seals if you have stock springs. Since I have upgraded springs/retainers I am curious what type of valve guide and seal everyone recommends?
