Hey all.

I'm getting my head rebuilt because one of my bronze valve guides dropped and got chewed up.

My head has 272's, springs and retainers so I need something that will work well with that.

Anyways, I wanna know which guides, seals, and locks I should go with for durability? Anything else I should consider?

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Tom

Yup, it got chewed up. Bronze shavings in the oil. Car is in the shop now and they are tearing out the head to rebuild it. I need advice so this doesn't happen again.

Factory's all you need. Sounds like that head may have been seriously overheated at some point.

It's possible. I was having heat issues before (fixed now) but I never pegged the temp gauge. But it's possible.

Just to make sure I got my parts list down... I need OEM guides, seals, and locks? Anything else?

Also, do I have to worry about anything else?
