Electric tick when trying to start car

Alright so today my car decided to just not start outta nowhere. I had been driving it earlier in the day so im pretty dumbfounded. It ran fine throughout the day then it sat for maybe a few hours (about 3 hours or so) then i went to go start it up and pickup a friend from work and the thing just ticks. The interior lights flicker woth the ticks but nothing else happens.

What is going on and how can iget this fixed asap. I need to get it running so i can smog it by next monday.

Sounds like your battery is on it's way out. Try jumping it, or take it to Autozone and have it tested.

Definitely sounds like battery or bad connections at battery atleast!

Check every ground you can possibly imagine starting with the battery.

My dad said its the battery too. I dont have the cash for a new one so im going to endup owing him even more money.

clean your battery terminals
clean ground connections

charge your battery up a bi, fill the reservoirs with distilled water before charging. Win.
