eBay vrsf intercooler (speed daddy) thoughts??

:tease:

Well I'm looking for an intercooler upgrade and the vrsf 2g short route caught my eye. Then I was looking through eBay and found a kit that looks to be the exact same thing. But for a good bit less Bolt on 38x10x4" Aluminum Bar Plate Intercooler Piping 95 99 Eclipse DSM 2G 4g63 | eBay

238$OBO!! vs the 309$ from "vrsf" yes it is missing one coupler and its not pre drilled but dam for 71$ less I can drill 2 holes but a better quality coupler

I'm assuming there all the same cores vrsf, ssac, speed daddy, deep stage garage ect.. Just some are missing a coupler.

Vrsf plowing us for 71$ because they added a coupler and changed up some mounting tabs?
What's your thoughts

I just hope your not that conserned about the amount of money you have invested (if your profile mods is up to date) you listed an oil cap under bolt on's.. And after hating on eBay you have Godspeed in your wish list... Besides the fact of not running a fmic or having logs or any thing usefully related to the ordinal question..

Considering your modlist. And the zest you have to save $71 for a ebay FMIC, I'm sure it will be added to your modlist as a VRSF FMIC. :notgood:

My oil cap was a big upgrade from the POS leaking crap that came with the car. :thumb:

And I'm sure STM and ExtremePSI will be pleased when I install all of my parts laying around my house, because unlike you, I dont need to save a few dollars for my build :dsm:

Vendor support all the way.

Btw my SMIC will work just fine with my BigT28, at least untill my SupraSMIC gets here. I dont add mods that arent installed. :nono:

Guys, the oil cap nor either of your mod lists have anything to do with the topic at hand. Lets not turn this conversations into something even worse. Please stay on topic.

Sorry.

The best option here is to go with the actual VRSF kit. You already know the reason why. You may or may not have experianced bad communication with them in the past, but you have the choice to move past that now. I encourage you to establish a clear line a good communication with them, put forth good effort to use VRSF kit over the replica/knock-off/ebay kit whatever it gets called. In the end it is your car and more so it is your money. I've said enough in this thread.

I'f a coupler pops its not the end of the world but besides that since your the ets fan club (not saying there not a better core) did you see the prices I posted look into that since your local since from what I'm seeing you paying 345$ for the 3 pipes in the kit.. Or are they that quality they there worth more then an entire vrsf kit ?..seems a little like there not even spitting on it that
Uhhhhh no? I got a great deal on my fmic kit! 1024 shipped!! ( not saying you need to get the biggest and best core they have, they have about 4 or 5 fmic kits for dsms)

It's a 4" core. Thats a $200 dollar upgrade option.
Flange for a tial bov=another $40
Speed density iat bung was another $40

The pipes are STAINLESS STEEL! They are amazing. Stainless steel cost a shit load may be a bit heavier but it will never oxidize and will essentially last forever. The throttle body flange is CNC machined. Comes with GOOD quality t bolt clamps, aluminium mounting brackets that allow for fog lights! Great customer service, and can be customized however you want for what application calls for that. So I'd say i got a fricking great deal and I'm set for life. Wish you could share my satisfaction.

Vrsf is a great budget fmic i will admit, but I'll end with this: vrsf is not the same as speed daddy, speed daddy =crap and i don't have to own it to know that.
Now you can close it :)

I've Tried to contact them several times during the duration of this thread no answers as of now via here and there sight directly.

I am leaning twards the vrsf but they seem to be out of contact and not in stock? Maybe if there was communication and a group buy I'd be convinced . Though I still believe the core is the same minus mount holes Ect and there is no evidence other wise , I'm talking as far as fins ,and cooling goes not any thing to do with mounting and piping Ect.

Honestly I'd rather buy just the core no couplers Ect I have tons of them floating around as it is same goes for piping as ill weld my own iat and bov on depending on clearances and my current set up but there seems to be no contact with them.. Customer support.. That was boasted about is not showing its face ..

Looks like you'll have to wait until next Christmas for any chance of a group buy. Even at that you stand to save about $20....so if saving $20 is worth waiting until Christmas, by all means.

Vrsf is constantly out of stock because everyone buys them like crazy. I had to wait 2 weeks before it even shipped. If you want just a core look no further.

I believe the vrsf would be better then that core according to there sight it flows more.and I like the super short route most about it.

Scroll down ,out of stock but your correct up top it said limited quantity I'd ask if they were contactable what statement is true. And no it's not waiting for 20$.

VRSF is higher quality than what you find on eBay without a doubt. I've seen both- the shitty eBay piping seems like it would collapse if you tightened a clamp too tight and the BOV flange isn't even close to being flat.

I got the ebay style or PR style kit locally a while ago. Sure enough the bov flange wasnt flat. A few moments on the belt sander fixed that. Not a biggie, but still says something about attention to detail.

My VRSF kit was bought when it was 'knocking off' SSAC. I have not had a single issue with it ever. I have boost tested it to 40+ psi several times. This was before they made their changes as well.

My guess is that the core is the same and if you dont mind doing a little work and possibly spending a couple dollars then go for it. That's what we were all doing with these kits a few years ago anyways.
