eBay Moog Suspension Control Arm Set

I don't think that's moog. I remember there was a thread that said to avoid world suspension because they lack OEM quality and that it failed rather quickly.

Here is the thread linky

Go to extremepsi and get the knuckle kit. Its $108.00 per side for OEM parts. Dont try to be cheap and save money buying non OEM parts they wont last. I made that mistake and had to replace everything a year later.
I will also add that getting the axle out of the hub is insanely hard and sometime impossible . If you have the money and want to save a lot of time go to advanced and get some GSP drive axles and get yourself some Timken hubs and just replace everything.

Thanks for the link. I'll look it over. :thumb:

Not sure which knuckle kit are you referring to? Can you post a link or part number? Thanks.

I bought some ebay LCA once just for temporary in a pinch. The bushings lasted 2 laps... if that.

Yikes, that sucks. Good to know. What do you recommend for a OEM-ish set? My suspension clanks when I roll over speed bumps, small pot holes or simpyl when I turn in so I know something(s) worn out. Not sure what it is so I figured I'd do the whole set.

Sorry, nothing Moog about it. Except maybe the tie rods. Just a bunch of crap that will fall apart.

Cool thanks. Can you recommend something? My whole front end is clunky.

Thanks all.

Try jnztuning.net for tie rods and end links. I wanna say tie rods are $100 a side and end links are about $50 a side
I know its not the cheapest option but you wont have to mess with it for another 10 years if you go OEM

If you want to go about it this way, replacing everything, I'd use only OEM parts or Moog if it was a better deal. I have Moog tie rods and they're dandy but everything else in OEM.

It could get costly, but if you know what you're doing you could probably do it all for under 400 bucks. The trick is getting the upper control arms for a good price because everything else is relatively cheap. Maybe just a bushing replacement for the old uppers?

Just a short list of what you might be looking at:
Tie rods, inner and outer
Endlinks
Lateral Control Arm
Compression Arm
Upper A-Arm
Strut mount/Isolators
Frozen bolts/balljoints that just spin when you try to tighten/loosen them

Well to be honest, I'm not quite sure where the problem is. I assume all my bushing need to be replaced and I would like to do them all. This would be cheaper than replacing the whole arms.

The problem is that I don't know if I can get the old ones out and the new ones in. I heard it's a PIA to get the old ones out and new ones in. Have you done it? You need a press to get the new ones in correct? I don't have access to a press so that's what's preventing me from just getting new bushings.

Any thoughts or alternative routes/options?

Thanks, Tom.

I think you could handle the A-arm bushings without a press. That's a couple hundred off the top right there.

Go ahead and do an inspection, you might find a main cause for your woes that isn't just age.

^ Thanks all. I'll inspect it and do some research on just doing the bushings. I'd like to do the whole set.

All of the part numbers listed in that ad are good Moog part numbers, except for the upper control arms. BUT, it doesn't mention "Moog" anywhere in the ad, so I'm assuming DLZ shares Moog's part numbers.

"Our parts are brand new, DLZ BRAND (chassis parts) and ProQuality (wheel hubs), original quality chassis parts, aftermarket replacements from China"

I agree with the guys above in that I would shop around for nicer stuff.

What do you think about the Prothane Total bushing kit for a DD?

https://www.extremepsi.com/store/product.php?productid=20962

I've always liked urethane better than rubber, so I have nothing but good things to say about Prothane and Energy Suspension stuff.

Yeah I've been eyeballing both kits for a while. Do you have experience with both? Which do you prefer (for a DD on shitty roads)?

I also heard the Prothane kit is more complete. I wish I could find a list of bushings included in both so I could compare. I need engine mount bushings too.

Thanks

For a DD on bad roads if you care about the cars NVH, skip the urethane. I had heard people say they noticed no difference but when I did urethane bushings it completely changed the car.

Sorry, what's NVH?

The roads aren't horrible but they are bumpy. There's a lot of patched so it's not a smooth ride.

What would you suggest Prothane vs Energy Suspension vs OEM?
