How much whp, makes a stock DSM AWD on a Dynojet or any other dyno?

I've searched like half hour and i haven't found something about it. :shhh:

This thread makes stock DSM's sound extremely slow.

LOL stock dsm's are slow. When I was 16 (10 years ago) I got to drive my first dsm. Without us even knowing it had a rebuilt motor or swapped from an auto because it had a 13b turbo and the motor had perfect compression. Anyways it would destroy most other stock dsms and it was because of the better spool. I always thought it was fast.

Now years later when I get in a stock dsm I feel like I'm in a slow honda.

Stock for Stock, the turbo is proven to be better but I'm a strong believer of velocity over volume when it comes to the head and the 2G has a better head design. This is irrelevant though because stock for stock, the 2G makes more horsepower.

Stock for stock in the quarter, I bet a 1g would outrun a 2g. Plus the 2g looks HEAVY:barf:

Hmmm!!!! I wonder why the two fastest dsms have 1g heads???

Couldn't have said it better myself. IMO, the only thing a 2g has on a 1g in stock trim is the tb elbow which don't mean shit, but I'm a 1g guy...so...:p

Well that and the fact that 2gs are sexy and 1gs are just ummm not...
Don't forget about the superior suspension either

To be honest why does the OP care, even if your trying to settle a bet this isnt the way to do it. I feel like the only reason to care is if your building a dyno queen. In which case dynos are all calibrated differently and compensated for altitude and such so its not even a great measure of power. if you went to 10 different chassis dynoes youd get 10 differnt numbers. If you drag race the only important thing is how fast it covers 1320 feet. If you road race who cares how much power it makes so long as its faster than the guy behind you.

2g heads are better flowing and are good for medium builds. The 1g head has more material to work with when porting so its better for a race build that has a fully ported head.

NICE.

As to my own opinion. Why are the 2G guys doing 6-BOLT swaps with a 1G heads. Why pay like $2000 to get your head ported to the size of a $200 port on a 1G's port. The power is at top end and you shift at high R's in the 1/4 mile. Bigger ports means more flow compatability and with more flow means more air and fuel can be stuffed into the chambers meaning more power. I dont know anyone who shifts at low R's in a drag exept my grandma. LOL.

The smaller intake ports for the 2G's were for better fuel mileage according to my uncle who worked for mitsubishi and put many of the dsm's together at the plant. They made the intake velocity better to use less fuel. In turn it made the 2g have faster turbo spool. The the 1g turbo was very slightly bigger they amped it to make something smaller look better as a "look its an upgrade from last model" thing. In fact it wasnt planned but it was just accidental in a quest for better MPG's that the turbo spooled faster.

Thats about right. My 92 TSi AWD, running a N/T motor in place of the turbo motor, with all the stock turbo items is running 176whp. Not bad with 155k on the motor and maxing out at 11lbs boost.

a 1g awd stock making factory power (meaning everything is maintained) puts down around 120 @ the wheels.

I agree a bone stock talon does put down 120 awhp, stock they are very week. but with some breathing mods on a stock turbo you can pick up about a 100 whp.

mine put down 120 whp at 3000 feet elevation.:thumb:
