Fellow DSM tuners, Please help me attain information on reaching my goal. I am trying to acheive 400 RELIABLE WHP on my 99 gsx.I want the bottom end of the motor to remain stock. I am on a very limited budget but i dont want to cut corners. I am looking to create a streetable whp rating. I want to acheive boost early and redline late. Hopefully there is a way to maintain max hp and boost early and late in the powerband. I also would like to acheive low to mid 11 second range quarter mile ET's. Please help me in my quest to create the perfect build plan. I have a stock evo9 turbo but it got fried and the shaft is bent, i'm guessing that it isn't worth rebuilding, but if i am wrong again please enlighten me. i have hks camgears and timing belt new in the box. Other than that my parts bin is empty...Thanx for your time and patience.

It's been done. Go to Road Race Engineering's website and read the 11 second GSX story. You'll find your answers there. Good luck!

I think a fp green would suite your needs with the right supporting mods. You would def need a descent fuel setup along with cams and a good reliable conservative tune. 400whp should put you into the 11's depending on driver skill with a setup like that but on pump gas i dont think you will achieve low 11's with what you are looking for.

400whp reliable and street able is no easy feat. I would start with a lower goal, still making sure you get an adequate fuel supply to upgrade the turbo when necessary. Get a 16g, have fun with it, and then ditch it when you are ready for a big turbo. Otherwise you wont spool until about 4500 rpms.

I know it can be done on pump gas which is what it will be tuned for, thank you for the reply.

Please listen to my goal. Dont try to change my opinion, i am sticking to this plan. I'm simply asking what is the best way to make 400 whp early and late, if you have a good setup in mind please feel free to tell me, Thanx again

That will be some beast! If i were you i would start with a 2.5" or 3" stainless downpipe, and a 3" cat-back system.

For this ebay has proved to be quite the steal, while still maintaining excellent quality. Here is a forum that has a lot of good info.

Ebay Exhaust Systems

and them a good boost controller. Probably electronic with the goals you have, that way you can get a boost gauge and controller in one.

Evo III 16G's are capable of 400whp but there maxed out. Thats your best bet for quick spool unless you get a nice ball bearing turbo. If you dont want to spend a lot of cash get either go with the 16g or get a 20g. get a good fuel system. Maybe 880cc injectors, good regulator and a 255 pump. Get a good FMIC, I'd recomend a vertical flow intercooler since they flow the best from what I read. If you want good low end a high end pull I'd get a 264/272 combo pair of cams. Are you building the head atleast? If its stock I wouldnt spin it too much higher than redline or you will float your valves. Maybe get a good intake manifold. FRH is one of the best you can buy but there scarce. Lastly get a good tuning system and run a lot of boost.

You say your budget limited but you still want the best of both worlds. If you want a car that hits boost early and makes power up top, than you will have to spend a lot of money. 16g would be a budget turbo but it wont make power past 7k rpm, not to mention to make that power you will need race fuel, e85 or a good meth injection kit.

Now if you want power up top with fast spool, I would go with a gt3076r. This will give you both sides of the power band but will cost you a good $1500 or more just for the turbo than you need other stuff just to run it.
