Since ive taken over working on this car and not half as disciplined as Id love to be, Ive been using my friend as a way to stay motivated to get it back on the road. He owns his own business doing car audio and remotes starts etc so he always has a couple. of cars hes working on. He sends me pictures throughout the day, then he started asking me what I was working on so and I cant show him code and tech designs that hes not gonna understand, so it kept me working on the car consistently so id have something to show and now ive started a build thread so there is some incentive to have a "look at what i did" moment. One of my other friend us to send picture of house projects to all of us to keep himself motivated so that it becomes a competition between us. So if youre trying to stay motivated, theres ways to do it, just gotta get creative with it.

Ive tried leaving DSMs after the accident with DSM #2 and i just felt naked and off until i ended up with #3. Worst of all, there will always be this thread that sticks out to me from the old ChicagoDSM message boards where a guy sold his heavily modded car and ran into the kid 8 months later and it had some goofy body kit and damaged from 1 or more accidents. Dont remember the guy but remember the car and it was something to envy as he would burn me down the highway on the rare occurrence that id run into him. he wished he never sold it. So now i cant imagine letting this car go. I cant say i wouldn't stalk the new owner if i did. 😅🤨
Thanks for sharing. I like this idea. My friends and I do share the house project photos back and forth too. I stay pretty buried in projects around the house. I think it’s time we all got back into the garage!

Not how I wanted this thread to go, but the car and associated parts will be posted for sale publicly following the upcoming holidays. Hopefully someone wants it all as a package deal.

As time has gone on, I just can’t see a future where my priorities are able to be switched back towards any type of project car. If you’ve been following along with this thread then I just wanted to say thanks for spending some time with me on here over the last few years. It was fun while it lasted bringing back that joy from my younger years.

It's sad but i totally get it, especially with having a family. A guy can only squeeze in so much time and usually the free time goes towards other projects or family related things. It's better in the end to let go of a project that you don't see yourself finishing. You still will always have the memories. I'm almost ashamed of how attached to my past I am so my hobby which is my car is at the top of the list. Well a step below the family of course.
Hopefully we will still see you around here, maybe update this thread with how your doing. I was dang near still in diapers when you joined, that must make you one of the OGs.

Yeah man! I'm glad to know you, and I know what you are talking about.
Maybe when you are this old (pic below) you'll be able to get back into something like this again.
Yep that's me crammed into the back end of an Audi Q7, kind of getting into the inconvenience of it all.
And my 2 granddaughters looking a little bored at the moment which is really unusual LOL
So stay in good health and be happy! 🙂

Thanks Jesse (edit: spelling-my bad) I have been thinking about this for a while. The project overload is really weighing on me. Things have changed a lot for me since 2019. It’s definitely not what I want to do, but like you said, it’s better for the car to go to someone who can use it. I do hope to get back into another one day. Maybe I’ll be able to get a super nice one that’s ready to be enjoyed. Yeah I joined pretty early and spent ALOT of time here. I will still be hanging around!

Looks comfy :DThanks for sharing. I hope to
get back one day but it’s time to admit and accept where I am in life currently. I’ll still be around here!
How much would you need…I’m in the market for a project…
Hey bro, hope you’re feeling ok. I’ll text you tonight later when I get settled in at work and we can talk about it if you want to.

It's alright man. You saw me do it, and I could name some other members that sold out in the last couple of years. With or without that car, life moves on. Get your family and finances settled in and then come back when you're ready. No shame in that. I've been trying to find my way back into the addiction, but not with a big project. I want something turn key ready, but there aren't many left unless you're paying top dollar. Your life, your family life, and your business are more important. Get everything sorted out and get one as a self given retirement gift, or ask for it as a holiday gift in the coming years LOL

I hope you still jump in threads when you can. Good to hear from you sir, despite the situation.

Well, this one has moved on to her next owner. He seems really happy to take over the project and paid my full asking price.

It was a great deal if you ask me. All the spare parts wouldn’t even fit in the truck they brought, so we still have to meet up one more time to completely finish the transaction.

I hope to get another one some day. Maybe one that’s been gone thru already and ready to be driven.

I’ll be around when I can. Thank y’all for everything!
