D2 Coilovers

I have been following these a little while and people in the EVO community seem to love these. I ended up never getting my Koni rears and got a reimbursed from Stillen and am now searching for a new setup.

Anyhow, does anyone have any experience with these versus Megan and KSport?

Between Tein,megan,k-sport,D2, and all of the other comparable priced coilovers they are all the same. Adjustments are the same. It comes down to spring rates and colors.


I had picked up the D2's. I love them but I also cant compare them to anything else.

K-Sports and the D2's as the same. Just named and colored differently. I would say the Tein are better than the K-Sports/D2 or Megan from a durability standpoint. As mentioned though, they are all about the same in a way.

I myself have had the K-sports in the past and had a horrible experience with them I blew 3 in about 1000-2000 miles daily driving

I've been running D2's on my 2G for 3 years now, and I love them. It's the best design suspension set-up available for our cars, IMO. I sold my Koni/Hypercoil set-up in favor of the D2's, and never looked back.

Thank you very much Paul. I was hoping someone would say they were running on a car that I know. I will be probably going with these over the others. On the other hand I was under the impression that although they are cheap like the Ksport and Megan but had better damping.

how about the BR coilovers? They seem to get great reviews on the evo forum and from what I saw on my buddys evoX they were a better build quality than Ksport or D2...

Back when I bought mine, I don't think there was an option. So, I have no clue which I have. Do they look physically different? Do you know what changed between the two models?

The RS coilover system is a 36 way dampner and rebound adjustable monotube full coilover system. The setup has seperate height and preload adjustments allowing for optimal adjustment and allowing full strut travel at all times along with pillowball upper mounts or top mounts*. Mounts are constructed of 6061 powder coated aluminum. Threads are teflon coated to prevent rust. Rebuildable and serviceable in the US.

D2 Racing Drag suspension kits greatly reduce your 1/4 mile time by offering increased traction properties through the use of drag specific dampening and spring rates while still retaining 36 ways of adjustment.

Same here. I've heard good things about them on OTHER cars but haven't met anyone with them on our cars

Any proof of this?

The d2's are superior like Paul said. I have Tien SS coilovers on my 3g and adjustablility, durability, and quality the tien's are much lower than the D2 basics.

I've looked into the D2's for near 2 years now, they will be going on my 3g for autox season as well as my 1g for snow rally/autox. Also ALL of my buddies who own DSM's in town are using the D2's.

Well I did send an email to D2 about the differences between the RS and Drag model. Hopefully they reply with some real information.
