Maybe I missed it somewhere in this thread but what version of the GT3076 will you be using? If its T3, what are the turbine housing specifics & if its a Mitsu bolt on, what manufacturer & A/R, etc?

I was expecting a higher H.P. level for 23 psi on a 20g. Maybe the high intake temps and low ignition timing are hurting. The airflow is impressive though. I'd like to see what it would do with 27 psi, race gas, cool intake temps, and ignition timing in the upper teens.

43lbs/min at "only" 23psi in a 2g with a stock intake manifold is pretty damn decent. Considering the decent transient response while shifting does make it quite the potent turbo. I'm hoping to get 45lbs/min and nearly 400whp with my td06 when the smim goes on. I'll be hitting the track on April 6th and participating in a dyno day on April 13th. I'll be sure to update this thread.

We'll see what the track reveals as far as estimated power goes. Keep in mind this is on 91 pump as well. That's why I can't get timing up. Depending how the track day goes, I may do a couple of runs on 100octane.

True, its an estimate, but it must match your logged boost when your motor is operating at 100% VE. Much like tuning a MAFT to run right, the stock 2g MAS must also be tuned to compensate for things like bigger intake pipes, intercooler pipes, etc. Your airflow numbers are a tad bit inflated.

I'm sorry but I have to disagree, I think the airflow is spot on. Here's another log. Its pretty impressive how close the boost est matches the GM3.3bar.

With a stock 2g mas, you shouldn't need to adjust the airflow sliders if the system is setup properly (i.e no leaks anywhere).

I'd like to see a 3rd gear pull starting at 2500 rpm to see what the spoolup looks like. I was planning on buying the FP20g with the smaller 6sl2 turbine wheel for better response.
Too bad the "hit" is alot less on the 20g then the EVOIII 16g.

Not very good. The track was packed beyond belief, so my runs were very limited (two good ones). To top it off, my 1g BOV decided to take a dump! It wouldn't release properly between shifts causing the engine to jolt/buck after every shift (mainly the 1-2 shift). It was so bad I couldn't drive the car hard at all w/out fear of breaking something. I can't complain though since that BOV is over 10 years old! Any hoot, I put on my spare greddy RS bov once I got home, and the problem was all cleared up but too late for the track. DSM's, gotta luv 'em:dsm:

Track results
12.7 @ 111mph (pump gas), Only 22ish psi because of BOV issues. Unfortunately the 1/4mi track will not be open again until the end of April (SoCal sucks for drag racing). But I will take it to the 1/8mi track this Thursday as I feel this turbo has alot more in it. Bench racing wise, I think it'll do 12.1-12.3 @ 115mph on pump. So I'm going to hold off on swapping the GT3076 until I get the 20g a fair shot. However, my time is going to be limited as my racing (motorcycles) season is starting, so results will come slower. Gotta get the bike prepped.

Here's the logs from the two runs(you can see the jolts pretty bad in them). I'll post the time slip later after I scan it.

PS - Even with the issues, the car still managed to take out an Evo w/ a 20g and a stock vette:thumb:

FWIW, I think that if you had enabled NLTS on DSMLink then your problem with the 1g BOV wouldn't have been an issue, as the throttle plate would never have been closing between shifts. Of course, if you hadn't been using NLTS with the other runs, then that data is corrupt because more than one variable has changed. 6 of one a half dozen of the other I guess.

Just to give an update to this thread. I participated in an AWD dyno day at Performance Motorsports in Smithtown, NY. The car layed down 334 uncorrected wheel horsepower on a Mustang Dyno and pumpgas. Boost pressure was set to 21psi with a tiny bit of creep to 22psi between 5 and 6000 RPM. I'll be heading to the track this coming Friday with hopefully 24psi and a better tune. I'll update again then.

Old school turbo vs new school. So cooolll, keep us updated. Witch 20g are you running again?
