Any Automatics here?

I need someone to check idle speed in P, N vs 1, 2, D, R.

Fully warmed up it should be ~750 rpms in one, and ~700 rpms in the other.

Thanks.

Is there any reason why I can't read or clear any CELs? Logging and flashing work perfectly fine, but when I try to read the CEL or DTC it takes a second and then says no response from vehicle ECU.

It does seem to work sporadically and I got the codes off of it a couple weeks back but wasn't able to delete all the error codes and I still get the light.

Where it says "Select DTC Method/ECU" choose "OBD2 EFI".

Older versions of EvoScan had issues pulling DTCs. Version 2.7 works for me everytime.

(Also try turning ignition off, then turn to On position, but don't start car.)
[And make sure you are not logging when you pull the DTC.]

DTC Method is set right, I'm on the newest version.

I'll give it another go in a minute when I head outside.

I was retarded. Went out and pulled the ECU plugs to setup my AEM logging through the ECU and of course the CEL went away after the reset. I'll have to wait till it comes back to try again.

Regarding setting up the AEM to log through the ecu and not using a serial-usb adapter is way easy, every where I read made it seem much more complicated.

Ceddy, you asked earlier about features we'd like to see. I'd like the CEL on knock to be like the Evo's. With it the way it is now, it flashes once and then you don't know if the car is still knocking or if it was one brief instance. A constant slow flash for low knock and constant fast flash for higher knock would be really nice.

I've found a problem with the Knock Gauge on newer versions.
Somewhere a scaling got messed up, so it needed about three times the amount of Knock to move.

The fixed version can be found here -> http://ceddy.us/?page_id=16

The new version is 1.9A beta. I ran out of decimal numbers with the 1.99 version, so switched to hexadecimal. This should be the last version 1 release.

If I sent you a BigMaps or SD rom before, email me and I will send you the updated version. Sorry for the inconvenience.

I have been making very good progress with CeddyMods 2.0.

So far:

I've switched to the 23640004 rom. This is the 99 GSX rom that was released in 2004, it has all the latest fixes and tweaks that Mitsu added bundled in. This is the last rom Mitsu ever released for a DSM.

BigMaps has been updated. Now the Ignition and Fuel maps are equal size (26x22) to make tuning easier by matching up cells. Also Axis Load is locked to LoadIATBaro. In stock form different compensated Loads are used depending on Closed/Open Loop and Air Temp. This makes matching up logged Load hard, and tuning inconstant.

Solenoid Window Switches is finished. This add full control of the FPS, EGR, and Purge. Can easily be switched from Stock to User Control. For Meth/H20 Injection, Cyclone IM, Nitrous, Knock Buzzer, Shift Light, Dodge Mod BOV, etc.

I found a way to easily do different Boost Gauges. Just select: Stock, Knock, Coolant, O2, Voltage, etc.

Found another Knock Control item, to control Tip In Knock.

Boost Control is in the works.

May add different selectable CEL Warnings. Can select slow flash Shift Light, fast flash 3 Knock Counts, solid light 7 Knock Counts. Or how every you want setup.

Probably forgetting somethings...

Edit:

In EcuFlash there is a "Map Help". This allows a short description and info about each table. I will be adding this to the more obscure tables.

Will big maps always be something that you need to patch over for us or will it be available as a regular "ceddymod" option.

BigMaps will probably always be separate.

It allows me to have a "regular" and "pro" package.

Once you are at the point you need BigMaps you probably have a couple thou$and in your engine bay, so donating $20 shouldn't be that big a deal.

Some people like the stock sized maps also.

Totally understandable.

Once I get my tune dialed in, I'll either send the money for that patch or just donate. The help you've provided to just me so far has been enormous.

i'm reflashing my ecu for 850cc injectors and tuning at the same time. my tuner said he will rescale the ecu for those injectors and tune during wot only since the rescaling and something about latency wil lhandle load and part throttle (basically the rest). is that all to it?

Don't understand your post 100%.

The stock Ignition and Fuel maps are pretty good below WOT, usually very little or no changes need to be made.

The majority of changes will be to the SpoolUp and WOT portion of the maps.

A big advantage to Flashing and CeddyMods is that it uses a stock factory rom, so all the "base" maps are already there and tuned for you, so you are not starting from scratch like with some standalone EMS.

Basically you tune injector size with WOT pulls, getting the AFR map and wideband reading matched up reasonably decent. Latency is used to do the same at part throttle. Injector size compensation has effect everywhere, but latency has less and less effect as IPW goes up (the lower the load, the more difference it makes).

"The stock Ignition and Fuel maps are pretty good below WOT, usually very little or no changes need to be made." - ceddy

So there is a factory fuel and ignition map for 850cc injectors?

I'm pretty new to this.

so when you rescale the ecu for the injectors (850 in my case). basically that's adjusting injector global and deadtime parameters? once that is done. everything else below wot will adjust itself?

adjusting for injectors is shifting a base unit. Adjusting maps is for fine tuning your new base shift

once that is done. everything else below wot will adjust itself?

What's to adjust? The ECU will now know how big the injectors are and if your values were correct you'll get the AFR that's in the maps just like with the stock injectors. If you don't want those AFR's then you change the maps.

Ceddy can correct me but I think there are a few other maps/tables for things like initial injector pulse widths and cold start enrichment that may need tweeking to be perfect with the larger injectors but should work ok as is.

I went from 550's to 680's to now 1200's all with Ceddy mods and the 1200's idle great but I am freshly rebuilt which I'm sure helps. But I can see how some people may need other adjustments to make things perfect I don't notice any difference between the those 3 sizes tuning/scaling them @ WOT method with above 100 load set to 11.0 or 10.8

Also someone stated the car must idle great at 739cc scaling for 1200's and it does not ever a problem. Starts right up like stock.

I lost my old xmls whats the WB02 info for evoscan. I deleted the old xmls that still had WB02 for the rear mounted 02 wideband input.

hate to re-post this I just never got a answer last time.

What exaclty are you looking for? An XML for running a wideband through the ecu to evoscan?

I just made a new item and entered the formula and that was all it took.

whats the data I need to enter it into evoscan? I don't have the formula or other values im using 2.7 now.

I wired the Analog 0-5v wire from my wideband to the rear O2 sensor on the ECU.

Then open evoscan, right click any item and go to "Edit Item List" or whatever it says.

Then Add new item, the button is on the bottom, left of the window and copy these values.

NOTE: That equation is for the AEM UEGO. For other widebands, you'll have to do some digging on evoM cause I don't even remember where I found that.

running 1000 pte injectors. put the scaling on dsm iinjector scaling nstead of evo. cold start is at around 11-1 and when warmed up at idle is still around there. stft is at 5%. how do i lean it out? if i do lean it out at idle would it affect the whole powerband? am I set to drive like this until I get a tune later? WOT? thanks

Are you running full time open loop? If not, idle should be taken care of by the O2 sensor.
