I am planning on doing the ceddymod on my 97 because I'm too poor for ecmlink. I couldn't clearly understand the stuff on the ceddymod thread so I made this.
First I'm picking the ecu from a 99 gst spyder, will that work?
Second, is it just plug and play pretty much? Like it will run without anything other than the ecu w/o modifications?
Next, I know I need this right? Tactrix Openport 2.0
But do I need this too? Mitsubishi Reflash Connector
And What do I need to purchace from evoscan's site? (links please)

The Tactrix 2.0 openport cable is USB...so it plugs right into any normal modern computer/laptop.

The youtube link worked fine on this side.

Do yourself a favor. Get the 99 ecu hooked up in your car. Start your car. Make sure your car works as it should with it stock. Then read the 99 ecu with the cable, and SAVE THAT FILE somewhere safe. Then you can start flashing ceddymod onto your 99ecu and actually tune.

The openport2.0 cable will plug into your obd2 port. I cant remember if the 97 has the white flash plug directly behind the black obd port. If not you will need to route a wire from a pin on your ecu to the flash adapter. The ceddysmod thread will explain all of this. The usb connector is self explanatory. Its all included.

Look up the user "r3compile" on youtube and the learning to flash an evo playlist should be there.

Okay, I now have everything I need minus a laptop, (getting one soon).
I have two more questions...for now, haha. The mitsu flash adapter that came with my cable I don't know how you wire that on. If anyone has details let me know.
Another thing is I was just wondering if I can just use the tactrix cable and evoscan to make a log while i still have my stock 97 ecu in.
Thanks.

For your second question- yes, just plug in and log away. You'll just want to make sure you get the right settings in evoscan (tactrix 2.0 etc).

1st question, since your a 97 you won't have the factory flash port, I believe vfaq.com (for sure "first flashed dsm" thread) has the write up with pics on how to do it.
