ECUflash CeddyMod v1 (EcuFlash)

So has anybody figured out which periphery bits/extra .xml coding needs to be added to be able to turn off CEL's for FULL EGR delete (solenoids plugged in electrically) and EGR block off plate? The car already has CeddyMods flash for emissions pass.

Has anyone else gone from a stock ROM to CeddyMods and experienced odd startup issues?

I really wish Ceddy's site wasn't busted to hell and back. I know he's busy and whatnot but there's hardly a working link in sight. Is there a different location for ROMs, Defs and identification software?

I saw your other thread and im trying to recall if I had startup issues when I first flashed my 98 GST ecu with Ceddymods.

I believe I did, you start it and it bleeps for a moment? Sounds familiar. Anyway I only had ECUflash for a few months Nov 2010-March 2011 before I had to sell my Openport to rebuild my motor. In that time I just didnt mind the little blip, never took the time to diagnosis it. But I suppose I can say your not the only 1 with that issue.

I'll take any data point I can. Thanks!

My car fired right up and ran just fine. All CeddyMod is, is just a updated version of the stock Rom. There should be no startup issues. Unless something failed on the burn. Try reburning the rom.

Do you still use the MAF? My friend had issues with startup and running because we thought that the ceddy mod supported SD until we purchased the real SD rom from Ceddy and we had no issues at all

Where did you guys buy the reflash cable? Evoscan's website wants $40 to ship it (3 day shipping) and the cable is only $2.50. Someone else has to sell the things.

Woah! 40 bucks for a Tactrix Cable? Not on this planet LOL. New the 2.0 is 169 bucks. I just bought one on EvolutionM for 150.
Tactrix Openport 2.0

Ceddy isn't coming back! That's why I went to an Evo8 ECU. Gotta have the cool toys.

Evoscan's website only charged me 10$ to ship mine to Canada....you sure you're choosing their cheapest shipping?

I think he meant the 40$ is for the shipping only, he's talking about the 2.50$ reflash cable, not the 2.0 openport (the one used to reflash: phono one end and white plug on the other)

Their cheapest shipping is 10-15 business days aka 2-3 WEEKS ...

From experience, I only consider those as an over-estimate on their times so that they don't get complaints if it doesn't arrive on time. Usually it's faster. They are however the cheapest you can find for that cable, it's 11$ from Tactrix + shipping (they weren't even selling it separately for a point, just started again).

That's what I did too. I just soldered a 1/8" male jack straight to the wire that goes to the ECU. works flawlessly. I just tuck it out of the way when I'm not using it.

Not to sound too dumb but can you take a picture of what you did? Is it possible to put a different kind of connector inline or does it require the use of an audio jack?

No, this is with the BigMaps ROM using my stock MAF on my stock car. I suspected my CTS for a bit, but the logs on it are solid as far as I can tell.

Wh.. Wha?! I mean I know it's been a while but there were promises of that 99 GSX rom..with all the tweaks mitsu added up to 2004..

You're probably right though. I guess it's fairly clear that Ceddy has moved on.
I don't frequent the Evo forums.

I'll see what I can do. It's just 1 wire soldered to a male 1/8" audio plug. I can't remember if it's a stereo or mono one.

The wire runs straight from the audio plug to the pin on the ECU. No other connectors.

Looks to be a mono plug

Just picture the same wire/mono plug without the white plug shown here and instead soldered into the correct pin in a permanent manner.

Did Ceddy ever finish boost control? If he didn't, why don't we put a little money together to get him back on it? At least so he can finish what he started. His software is dirt cheap compared to similar options.

I'm in for $100 if he will help out. Lets support this fool and get him back. I have a vehicle to test on if need be, I just really want boost control.

I wish he could set something up to do live tuning also. It sucks not being able to make a change instantly but, I'm sure that won't surface for H8 ecu's.

I'm in much agreement with this sentiment.

I've donated a bit before but I'm willing to throw 20 bucks into the pot if he gets back on it.
