Wondering if stock head w/272s will be sufficient for my setup.

My setup as following are, block machine, hone, clean, deck and crank polished on a 6bolt block with .020 over je pistons/rings and eagle rods, acl clevite 77 main and rod bearings, arp main studs.

Ecmlink, 1000cc, 255 pump rewired, fp green, dp, exhaust, fmic/hard pipe, hks bov, magnus smim, gm maf-t, act 2600 w/ss disc, stock tranny, dks 272's, 3g rivise lifters, aem uego, aem true boost, oil pressure gauge.

Any suggestion would be great.

While im no expert, and correct me if im wrong, but from what ive learned, the heads on these cars are quite high flow capable! Seems like I remember reading about people making lots of power on a stock head with our cars..

it really depends on the cam itself. some cams are more aggressive than others but if i had that engine, i would go with 280's

I agree it would depend on the cam. For example kelford 272s are more aggressive than say HKS. I run Kelfords on my HX35 setup. Definately recomend upgraded springs for these though.

They do. Kiggly racing uses a 99% factory head casting/design. Just some minor clean up work.

I think a important question is how high do you plan on reving? You need to take this in account because of valve float issues on a stock spring. People have been known to run stock springs and have no ill effects however. Personally I would go one of two routes. Either run a stock spring HKS 272 setup, or spend the money and get some Kiggly's. You will never need another spring again. Single springs imo aren't that much better than a stock spring. Either way, looks like your on your way to a nice setup.

at a min. change the springs and valve stem seals.

Kiggleys or Ferrea springs and retainers will be greatif you have the money for them.

The BC1100 springs with stock retainers will work fine for most cams (NOT KELFORD or the Kelford clones) The BC1100 springs can be had for about $100 shipped and are better than the 100k mile springs that are probly on the head now. The BC1100 spring will be fine as long as you do not try something moronic, Like installing Kelford cams on them.

Also what head gasket do you plan on running? A composite or MLS?
How are you having the head and block milled?
