My current setup for a 550hp build. Currently I have a completely stock 1995 Eagle Talon.
I'm still looking into several parts in which I still would need for this upgrade. Any suggestions are welcome thanks.

so you say just stick with the stock mas air flow sensor? and dont upgrade it at all or are there aftermarket airflow sensors that are of better quality? im kinda new to dsm tuning

You should be fine with the 2g maf for a while. I would think about going with maybe a stroker also and a larger turbo like that was mentioned. The only problem is you cant vent without speed density or maf-t so the tial bov would be out of the question.

Do you have a 2g? If so, yes. Your stock MAF will get you VERY far. I have friends running 10.2-10.6 timeslips on the 2g MAF and DSM Link combo flowing over 80 lbs/min with it. It's very UNDER rated.

I ran a TIAL BOV & factory MAF for years without a problem. It's the same old vented BOV talk that's been around for 15+ years now. There's plenty of info out there on why it will and will not work.

I'll second the Shep tranny at that power level. That plus some good stiff engine mounts. The ACT 2900/street disk will hold that power just fine but mine doesn't exactly want to shift quickly at 9000 rpm. I'm probably going to get a PTT.

I'll also second the Bosch -044 pump instead of the crappy Walbro. I've had too many Walbro's die and there's really not much head room at that HP level. If you stay Walbro, at least get rid of the stock fuel filter banjo bolt feed line and go with something that flows better. Buschur's SX bolt on fuel pressure regulator is nice but you'll probably need to move your coil pack. It's got some sharp edges and cut through the plug wire boots on my Galant.

I also have a 3.5" MAF-t in blow through mode and DSMLink. It'll work pretty good if you get a wideband &/or a pressure sensor to calibrate the GM MAF. As far as weather related stability goes, it seems way better than my Galant HKS/VPC setup. That VPC drives me crazy during big temperature swings.

How do you get the car to not run rich between shifts??

It was a little rich between shift but not too bad. The TIAL seemed to work better around town in daily driver mode than a crushed and vented 1G BOV did. I had cams too so vacuum wasn't as high which probably kept the BOV from sucking in too much air at idle. There's a gazillion posts about this subject on the old talon.org digest.

So much for "without any problems", don't ever suggest venting with stock MAFs, at lease on this forum. ;)

Raining on the parade...

This vehicle will need an I/M test and gets a full visual/functional/tailpipe test in up here in Fairbanks. You may want to reconsider/postpone/alter/do it anyways :) your build. Of course there is a seasonal waiver that will allow you to run whatever you want between April 1 and October 31, which works great for RWD race cars, but sucks when your AWD!

PM me about the details, these other guys don't need to be drug through the local I/M stuff. ;)
