i have a turbo xs RFL bov on my car right now but i do not like it due to it vents to the atmosphere. this makes it alot louder but not better. as i should and want to vent it back into my intake. if i vent it back into the intake then will you still here the sound? because i like the sound but do not want to sacrifice performance for a sound if you know what i mean. any helpon picking out a bov would be great to thanks.

I have my 1g BOV recirculated and when I let go of the gas at 10 psi, its pretty loud.... you can for sure hear it...

Type s or 1g will be louder than rs, from what i heard the rs its pretty quiet. I like my type s, but there is nothing wrong was a 1g either. A 1g crushed bov is just crushing the bov so that it can hold more boost. Uncrushed is just an oem 1g bov that hasn't been crushed.

Tial can't be recirculated. Its springs are rated according to your vac levels as well. With big cams you're probably running lower Hg than before. My car likes to sit at 8 Hg or so and I think the Tial's smallest spring was set for a minimum of 11 Hg. So I opted to go with the SSQV instead. You can get a recirc kit for it and also change out the insert to change what it sounds like.

do the insert changes on the ssqv make it louder or sound differant? im looking for a good reliable BOV to hold 25 psi, sound loud, able to recirculate and is not to expensive.

also where can i get a kit to change a flange from a tial to a 1g or a GReddy type s? i think i saw some on sbr but i dont know if thats to make aflange or to convert an exsisting one.

If you are looking at a good bov, there is no getting around the fact that they are expensive. In my opinion the HKS SSQV and especially the Tial are probably the best two on the market. The SSQV can be recirculated with optional kit but from what I've read from people doing that, it wasn't designed to recirc and doesn't exactly function quite right when you do...it uses "pull type" sequential chambers to vent air charge and adding a recirc tube changes the pressure on one end.

Cheapest price I saw on SSQV is at dsmparts.com. $150 for bov, then $50 for 1G BOV flange kit. If you want to recirc it's $30. If you want the sound inserts those are like $30. For just 25 psi you might want to go with Dejon's 1G BOV or their Greddy-S copy.

I have the HKS and it is awesome. You can get a recirculation fitting for it for 12 dollars on extremepsi.com and then go down to advance auto or pep boys or something and get like 5 or so inches of hose, and two clamps for like 2.50. The HKS is physically impossible to leak and sounds great even when it's recirculated. I highly recommend getting it if you're looking for a BOV, just make sure you recirculate it! If you buy the fitting from extremepsi.com it comes with instructions on how to put the fitting in the BOV but it isn't hard. Took about 15-20 minutes to get the fitting in and put the hose on. Good luck!

Alright, I finally got my intercooler piping that 96gstdsm and I were talking about. So far (not having put it on the car yet) it doesn't seem to be very bad.

The quality doesn't look too bad. I wasn't thrilled about the glob around where the BOV would fit to the flange, but it doesn't look like it will impeed much of anything. I did try and scratch it by slightly scraping it, and indeed it will scratch, but if you rub the scratch just a bit, it fades out pretty nicely, so I think you'd really have to scuff it for it to be really noticeable. I'll do a complete write up on it tomarrow or Friday.
