hey i just put on a cheap intake tube from ebay because i was trying to make a modded one out of the oem one and i messed the whole thing up.....anyway i have noticed that my bov is almost totaly quite, just this very quite swooosh...im not in anyway trying to be like fast and the furious its just nice to have with some chump in a civic pulls up tring to show off......it shuts him up quick ;) but if anyone can help please do thanks

yeah....everything is hooked back up ...i know that your not suposed to vent back into the atmosphere and wouldn't that make it louder anyway?

venting to the atmoshpere=louder BOV, and from what i understand, if u want to vent, then u should get a GM MAF and a MAFT, i think u can get both from slowboy if im not mistaken.

recirculating is just a better way to run ur BOV...think about it..excess air is being pushed back into ur intake, so its not really "wasting" the air.

But yes, venting is louder, recirc is more quiet.

LOL sorry if i sounded like i wanted to vent, i don't....the new intake pipe has just made the bov quieter an i was wondering how i could get the sound back.....the part of the tube where it recirculates dosen't go on inside the pipe like OEM does coulds this be why its not as loud?

My guess is that maybe you had some type of leak? You really shouldn't be able to hear the stock BOV all that well from my experience. If the BOV dump tube is properly hooked into the intake pipe, then it's the way it should be, and I'm not sure what was up with it before, but again my guess would be some leak. If you still want to recirculate but want that nice noise, a GReddy Type-S BOV just might do the trick, they are still noticeable when recirculated and will hold much more boost then your stock 2G BOV. You will need to either get a UICP with the type-s flange on it though, because you can't custom-weld rubber (stock IC piping) .Good luck though!

It changes sound everytime you take it apart I've found. One solution to a louder sound while still recirculating is to make a custom pipe to connect the BOV to the intake. Make it turn at a 90degree angle at some point, thus causing the air to hit a corner much harder and increasing volume.

i liked it when the BOV was quiet. F&F!!!!111

The thing that makes the stock bov sound loud is the pipe that is inside the intake pipe, when i cut the dump tube off it was very quiet. The stock bov is not loud. Im sure the new intake pipe doesnt have the dump tube in it and that is why it is quiet.

Not exactly, it's the fact that the dump tube caused the air to rapidly hit the side of the intake pipe. Once you cut it shorter, it no longer hit the wall of the tube at pressure, thus it became quiet. As I said, all you have to do to restore some volume is to use a 90degree bend on the recirc tube. No, it's not effecient, but it works.

I did this accidently trying to hookup my recirc that the previous owner had vented with a Dejon pipe that had no recirc port. It works...

ok thanks im just going to leave it as is.....i much rather have better performance than the sound anyday of the week
