i have a turbo xs RFL bov on my car right now but i do not like it due to it vents to the atmosphere. this makes it alot louder but not better. as i should and want to vent it back into my intake. if i vent it back into the intake then will you still here the sound? because i like the sound but do not want to sacrifice performance for a sound if you know what i mean. any helpon picking out a bov would be great to thanks.

You will still hear the sound, it might not be as loud but it will be there. Depending if you have a hard intake or not will depend if it will still keep a louder sound also. .

If you want a recirculating BOV that isn't extremely loud, and you're thinking about getting a different BOV, I'd look into a 1G or a Greddy RS.

i believe the turbo xs rfl is designed so that you cant recirculate unless you make something custom. i run the greddy type-s and it sounds great even recirculated. hasnt leaked yet. but if it does im afraid im gonna have to join the ssqv band wagon. i wish i could run the tial bov, but you cannot recirculate them...youd need a blow through set up.

thanks guys ya the rfl is crap. came on my car and all it is , is show. really loud but only can vent to atmesphere. so the calculated air is wasted. very dumb! thanks for all the help. what are some good intake pipes? so it will be louder like the loudness jjust want it to run well to

I just bought these myself...

I haven't recieved mine yet, but I could give you impressions once I recieve them. As far as I know about them, they're full 2.5" pipes that work for your stock SMIC and come in your choice of color (except chrome or polished) and come with your choice of a Greddy, 1G, or turboXS flange.

Not bad for the price.

Wait, you do mean intercooler pipes, not an intake pipe right?

i was asking if any one new any good INTAKE pipes not intercooler pipes. but thanks for the link. i would look in to them but i want to run a FMIC.

My bad man. Wasn't sure why you were looking for intake pipes when you were dissatisfied with your BOV.

You can still find decent intakes on ebay as well. I purchased one off there that works great (though the couplers were a royal PITA to get on). They do make your BOV louder than it used to be though. Mine is a helluva lot louder than it used to be.

no problemman ya im lookin for somthing so its noticable out side the car but i can still put it to the intake soi dont lose the air my ecu alredy calculated for. so ya the reson i want an intake is why every one does louder BOV and more air.LOL

Yeah i would say just get one of those ebay 50 buck intake pipes. They come with a filter that has worked great for me, but you can always just put a k&n filter on instead. The ones for like 150 or more are really the same thing as the ebay ones. The 50 buck one i got off ebay, made my 1g bov sound very loud. Intercooler piping also makes a noticeable difference. Can hear mine recirculating from a pretty good distance away. Also spool up will sound alot louder.

Hey i just got that intercooler piping kit. I have to say it pretty much sucked! When i got it it was just spray painted, all the paint like chipped off or scraped off when it came in contact with any other part. The couplers were pretty small so was hard to really cover all the connections. One of the cuts was at a really bad angle also, so that made it much harder to fit correctly. Also it is definitely home made. No beaded edges so wont hold as well under higher boost either.

I plan on running a FMIC as well, but I'm going to do the long route, so my top portion stays the same. By doing that, I could practially use all the old pipe I've got for my SMIC since the lower section is actually in a few pieces.

My little greddy type S clone is loud as hell for a recirculator after I put my intake on, and you can definetly here the turbo spool louder, not to mention here the air being sucked in by the filter. One of the best upgrades you can do early on. :thumb:

What do you mean by beaded edges?

96gstdsm, I believe you were the one who made the thread about that piping kit and you had a big boost leak problem right?

You should definitely submit a review on it to the tech section.

I have seen that kit before on ebay, and I thought thats nice another cheap option for dsmers, but before your review no one else here had any PERSONAL EXPERIENCE with it. And based on what you said about it, theres way better options. For example for $142 more you can get the xs power 2g fmic kit. It's full shortest route 2.5" diameter beaded upper and lower ic kit, polished (not spray painted) and nice 4ply couplers AND t-bolt clamps, and not to forget its a huge fmic kit to begin with. You pretty much taken care and future proof your setup whether you have low, mild, or extreme mods already on your car.

We'll see. Hopefully it's not as bad as he says. :(

I wouldn't have went with the SS Autochrome one though, as I'm not a fan of the kit. From what I read, you've got to cut out some pieces on the car (not just the front bumper) and I'm not a big fan of that. I'll likely by one of the Godspeed cores and then some pipe kits or something for a FMIC.

I think i will write up a little review of it. I didn't take any pics of the piping unfortunately before I installed it. Don't want to go through it again to take pics though. I'll post about when I get a few minutes. Definitely wish i had just gone with an xs power fmic. I guess I will do that once I put my newly painted 2gb bumper cover on. Maybe I just got unlucky with mine. It also took 1 month to arrive.

I'll take some pictures of mine so we have a comparison on before installation, and afterwards and what not. That way others might have a better clue as to what they're getting into.

ok i bought a 95 talon and it is vented into the atmosphere by the previous owner and i was just curious about how to go about recirculating the air basically where does it reenter and who makes the type s blow off? thnx!
