great falls, Montana
so havin a boost issue on my 95 talon it holds about 16-17 psi in second and third gear and it pulls really nice, but when im cruising on the highway in fifth ill go to get on it and it will spike to about 15psi and then just falls down to only like 8 psi. i have a perrin mbc and it worked like a charm on my old gsx so i know its not that. im thinking boost leaks but not quite sure. if anyone can help me out that would be much appreciated.

im going to have to do some logs and see. just got an innovate wideband so going to install that and then get some tuning done. its on stock tune just have 550s in it. i got my idle tune the best i could without a wideband so havent been pushing it to hard.

Yea if you don't have a safc or ecmlink I'd drop the boost back to stock and replace the 550s with 450s. You are just asking for trouble raising the boost to 17 psi without even having a wideband installed yet. Patience can only benefit you when working on a dsm.

No one can help you until you can properly monitor what is going on. No wideband and turning up boost/tuning cannot happen without knowing AFRs. You also should be doing some routine trouble shooting before going further such as a blt. Turn down the boost and put in the stock injectors until you can property compensate. Doing pulls would be considered being hard on the car. Staying off boost would be suggested if your not going to take the advice. When you install the wideband, change your plugs too. They will likely need it.

its not my daily so im just going to put my wideband in and make a boost leak tester and then get some tuning done. and yes im aware that i shouldnt be running so much boost i just havent messed with my controller after i switched it from my old gsx. just took the car out to see how it would do. it actually runs really nice and my plugs are perfectly fine checked them also.

Ok so you knew it would run bad with those injectors, you have a wideband and decided well i dont need it. You knew the boost controller was not right. Then you took it on a hard run and are wondering why its running bad? Are you kidding me man? I predict if you keep treating your car like that you ain't gonna have one for long. Thats me being flat out honest.

dude i just got my wideband in the mail a few days ago. and my boost controller was set lower on my other car so figured it would be close to the same. i do have it hooked up different on here tho. and the car isnt running bad at all it just didnt hold as much psi in fifth. trust me ive seen people run there cars under much worse conditions.
