Hey guys, I'm upgrading from my 91 GST to a 98 GSX. the GSX has a EVO 3 Big 16G turbo and he said it just reciently passed smog. I was wondering if they usually do, then I can keep that turbo on there and not have to downgrade every 2 years for smog. right now it has an Apexi downpipe and exhaust. so I was wondering if you guys have any insight on it. THANKS

Passing smog usually gets harder when you add cams or your fuel setup not just what turbo you are running. It really depends on how well the car is tuned.

Even with the loaded test, I doubt enough load is produced to get the turbo spooling; especially with a bigger turbo, so I think you'll be fine. Just don't go and get the compressor cover chromed or anything like that. :D
