Hey guys im getting a big 16g turbo for my 96 eclipse and wana know if there nething else i should get beside the turbo manifold, front mount intercooler, upgraded fuel pump and injectors so that i dnt blow nething up when i put it on. input appreciated, thanks guys.

Logger, some way to adjust for the bigger injectors. If your getting a 255lph pump an adjustable fuel pressure regulator.

What they said, an safc or get an eprom so you can chip it. Also make sure its not an ebay 16g either. Bad call.

I would also look for some new oil feed and return lines. Your old ones could be gunky, and you don't want to blow that new turbo a day after you bolt it up. You can find oil line kits made for 16gs from most vendors.

he cant even use his T25 oil lines for the 16g LOL

you have to get a SS oil feed line and a 1g oil return line.

do you already have J pipe? if not add that

you can leave the stock injectors just dont raise the boost past stock, ~12psi mine were maxed oout at ~12psi LOL

save up and pick up a Eprom ECU and DSMlink dont waste your time with a crappy SAFC. just do it right the first time, you will get a waaaaaaayyyyyy better tune.

then get some larger injectors, my 650's were plenty for my old 16g

and a fuel pump, you can spend ~$20 on a rewire kit on ebay, then pick up a Evo VIII or IX fuel pump IX is a better pump. and that way you wont have to buy a, AFPR

im running a SBR GT-10 at 26psi on a rewired evo ix fuel pump and 650cc + methanol injection

i just have a quick question since you guys talking about DSMlink.....if i get my car tuned by a professional tuners that out there...do i still to get the DSMlink or i will be just fine...sorry i am new to tuning i do not know how it actually works...since I do not how tuning works I figured out it would be a good I idea to let …the dsm shop do that for me unless I need to get a tuning device that must be plugged in while am driving…..sorry for interrupt

Well dsmlink you can learn yourself why pay someone, it takes some time, just ask questions. Get some 550ccs or soem 650ccs and you should be set, a 190 wally is good for fuel pump upgrade. A 255hp is too much if you also want to buy a afpr, just more money. And get a logger to check for knock.

Whats so wrong with a ebay turbo? As long as your not trying to go all out 25 PSI on a 16G or anything just staying around 16 PSI i dont see and issue... Ive ran a 16G Ebay turbo for 200$ off ebay on my Civic for the past 2 years.

get a fuel management system, j pipe which conects to stock IC. fuel regulator. Don't 4get cams! 264/272 great combination. would suggest a evo-3 o2 housing and exhaust manifold.....but not really needed...depending on your needs and budget.:thumb:

you just cant tune a stock ECU by connecting a computer to it. You need something like an SAFC or Link or AEM ems to do the tuning with.

well, from what Iv'e heard???????.......they are made in China. No wonder they are so cheap . compare the prices and you be the judge. (approc 1/3rd the price ) I'd rather pay extra bucks to get the real McCoy. :notgood:

Lol damn guys you have been busy on my post while ive been away. Thanks for all the info i really appreciate it. this is gona help me out ALOT!!! oh nd im also kinda....ok im hella new to DSMs so whats logger? nd how would i go about checking for knock once i got all this set up? what does this ecu eprom really do? pls explain. what does eprom stamd fpr? is it an acronym?

ya man you are definitely going to need dsmlink if your going to get upgraded fuel injectors. You will also have to learn how to tune your car using their software and if you don't wanna learn be prepared to dish out some heavy cash to have someone do it for you. best of luck

HaHa if ima buy that MOFO then your F#$%@&* right ima be learnig how to tune it!!!! ive got all the time in the world!!!!! Like my friend nd i just foung out the other day...GOOGLE IS GOD!:hellyeah: LOL nd you guys have been hella helpful.

This will explain all about eprom chips: EPROM - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

If you have an eprom in your ECU (Engine Control Unit) you could have it reprogrammed for your larger injectors. As for Dsmlink (ECMlink now), you don't need an eprom ECU to use that anymore. They made a workaround.

EPROM isErasable Programmable Read Only Memory. Most DSMs come with PROM Programmable Read Only Memory...Basically from the research ive done its having the ability to place a desired "tune" onto a chip (only found in EPROMS such as mine :) ) You can adjust several things by using Hex and Numerals. Kinda like computer programming HTML code that sorta thing but not so much. You switch characters around in the tables to get different results do away with certain tests the ECU runs bypass sensors etc. Its pretty sweet. It requires knowledge of how EPROM works and to have the EPROM ECU socketed. The factory tuned chip is soldered onto the motherboard. You have somebody solder a socket in its place so that you can remove the chip and replace or retune etc. I just found out my 95 had EPROM about a week ago and have been reading up on it since. So hopefully I can get a decent tune on the car after the 14b. :hellyeah:

ABout how much does a DSMlink cost, and also, can you just get the DSMlink(ECMlink), and just tune your car, will it allow you to, and will it retain the info?

Here is the quick low down on DSMlink.

You need an EPROM ECU. The EPROM chip has to be removed and a socket put in it's place. This is so you can insert the DSMlink chip in. If you don't adjust anything but fuel injector settings, it will read your stock fuel, timing, and airflow maps and run like normal.

N/T users cannot use DSMlink since they cannot use an EPROM ECU.

The "workaround" to not having an EPROM ECU is only for 1g's. They came up with a way to convert a non-EPROM ECU to accept an EPROM chip.

You will also want to get a wideband sensor with DSMlink so you can actually tune. It is not recommended to adjust most of the settings in there without a wideband.
