This is not another wish list, in the process of upgrading turbo. Currently have small 16G, but would like more power out of my daily driver. Is the Big 16G my only option for a street warrior? Any other turbo out there for a street driven vehicle? Thanks for any input in advance.

err, it seems to me like you're taking small steps instead of leaps into making a "street warrior"

going form a 14b > s16g > b16g seems like a waste to me. If i were you, and wanted more power, i'd go with a 50 trim variation or a 20g. These things flow around 650 cfm and are capable of 400+ whp. Although you may not hit these numbers. they will produce ALOT of streetable power with moderate boost lag [ < 4k ]

or you could go with a 3065 :p

You should skip out of the 16G catagory if you are looking for alot more power. If your car is set up for a 16G then a 20G will benefit from just adding some larger injectors, a fuel tuning device, and a FMIC if you need them.

Same thing for the 5oTrim. :thumb:

eh, evo3 16g should be the most reliable street turbo, its close to stock and delivers plenty of power without the problems of owning a large turbo, Im running a small16g right now, but I may want to buy a evo3 16g sooner or later. Just get an fmic boost it to 25 psi If needed and you'll sure raise some hell.

You shouldn't need a fmic, just get one of those supra sidemounts. That should handle a big16g.

another vote for something bigger then a big 16g. A 20g or a fp3052 (what I have) is very streetable. you wont see much power upgrade to a big 16g.

I think the FP3052 is huge for a daily driver. I was looking into FP's 44lb/min 2544 dual ball bearing turbo but recently it is missing from their website.

I think the Evo III Big16G or the FP BigT28 are ideal turbos for a daily driver. Fast spool, less radical upgrades and it could be had now for relatively cheap. Gas is not cheap so anything that requires bigger than 550 injectors is asking for it. A daily driver that gets 15 mpg will get old really quick.

Just out of curiosity, why don't you up your boost to 23-25 PSI on your 16G before upgrading?

If you're only running at 16PSI, you've got a lot of headroom.

To answer, I agree with 50-trim being about the most on a DD.
