best way to lower my car

Heat up the stock springs or either just cut them... This is by far the best way to do it, will give u a silky smooth ride. :notgood:

JK buy a suspension setup or at least some lowering springs...

my car sits on 18 inch konigs and i am wondering whats the best and cheapest way to lower my car?

You are contradicting yourself, there's no much thing as "cheap" and best or quality with car parts. If you want something that will last you, be comfortable, and handle well, go with Koni Sport shocks with either the Eibach, H&R, or Ground Controls. If you want cheap, eBay is your friend, just dont ask for a warranty. :thumb:

I run KYB GR2s and Eibach Pro-kits. It was $400 shipped, lowered about 1.5" and rides awesome.

if you go any lower than that you'll need to get camber kits which will add to your cost. make sure you also get an alignment done when you're finished.

GR2s wont last that long lowered as they are meant for more of a stock replacement. Get some KYB AGXS if you want to lower as they're good cheap shocks that can handle a drop. Grab some Eibach springs while you're at it. Proven combination.

throughout the years, I've seen a hidden problem in the long run with some of the shocks out there on the market. The KYB's, Tokico's, and small brand shocks are not designed for lowered cars. After a few years or even a few months, they tend to blow out. Ever try to send your blown shocks back after three months for warranty? They will always refuse if it's on a lowered car. You can tell that the car has been lowered because the wear marks on the piston shaft will give you away. The only brand that does not care, with a lifetime warranty, is Koni. They cost considerably more then the other brands, but it's well worth the money.

I had kyb agx's they sucked they lasted about 1 year like the last guy said try sending them back they give you a line why they won't replace. I run Tein S Tech lowering springs on Tokico shocks I love them that's just my preference

Cheapest would be to pile 3 or 4 fat chicks into the cabin.

Best would be a nice set of coilovers.

Meet in the middle and pick up a decent set of shocks (KYB, Koni, Tokico, etc...) and a set of lowering springs (Eibach, Progress, Sprint, H&R, Intrax, Tein, etc...).

Idk about cheap theyll ###### wanna go eat then go to a movie then eat again..:notgood:

K dude, I have your exact setup.. My car sits on 18" Konigs with 225 40 R18s, and I have Tokico Blues and Tokico Springs I got for a STEAL on ebay for 230 shipped BRAND NEW!!... So if your looking for a cheap route.. watch ebay for a while and search something like Tokico Eclipse 99 or something.. You will also need a 40ish dollar camber kit for the rear.. but you can search around on that for more details.
I would have to say as well that the Tokico Blues/springs is a good enough drop imo for 18s.. Mine sit about 1.5-2 fingers above the tire all the way around now that they have settled..

He didnt say "hungry" fat chicks...but when are fat chicks not hungry. ROFL

What is your budget? All of these suggestions are good, but it will be easier and will narrow things down if you tell us how much you wanna spend as opposed to asking whats the "best and cheapest". Which as was already stated you cant have both.

This is why you buy from an auto parts store (in my case Advance because I work there). All our lines come with a ltd liftime replacement, and old shocks are a destroy in store item. So basically you bring them in, say "these are shot" they say, ok, get you a new set, and throw away the old. We dont inspect them, because we dont give a shlt.

The downside is unless you work there, or know someone who does that wants to be really nice to you, the limited part of the warranty kicks in and after the second set its only a 90 day. I get a new pair every season :D
