yea, high frequency is no joke, luckily my machine does not need to run it full time for AC tic since it's an inverter based machine, but i've had my fair share of muscle contractions from the days of running an older synch 250 on continuouse HF :Carbide inserts usually dont give that great of a finish compared to a tool bit that you can make yourself. Carbide inserts usually dont have a large enough radius on the cutting edge to promote a good surface finish. Unless you are using insert that goes on surfacing machines. Other than that nice work, just be careful when welding because ive had my fare share of mishaps. Tig welding aluminum while your sweaty arm is touching the table is not good, the moment i hit the pedal my arms literally contracted into the retard position and i felt like a boxer hit me in the chest so thats why when i see that stuff i always say be careful.

As for inserts, i really only like the fact that they are good for rough cutting and that if ichip the tip i can just rotate the bit around and keep cutting instead of pulling the tool out and hitting the diamond wheel. For all my finishing work or when i want a better finish than the carbides i have on hand can offer I will just grind some HSS and round the nose off real nice to smooth it up.
