It been a while but here is an update on the Edelbrock manifold. Still needs drilling and a little more gasket match. This thing will look sexy on the car.

U might as well have left the runners how they were as they weren't over lapping the intake ports entrances. What u did to them is going to give very little in the way of power if any at all. I think the gains if any are only going to be from tapering the ports in far enough to increase the cross sectional area of the coke point in the runners. Basically Gasket matching to a 1st Gen gasket was over kill and not needed.

How will work on a 2g head? I know you have to do a great amount of porting for the 1g head, but the 2g head having smaller runners would it be better or easier?

Most of the difference between the 1gn and 2gn intake ports is the 1st Gens floors are dropped which isn't an ideal thing to do when porting a head. Based on the pics above or looks as though in order to do this with a2gn head u would have to drop the intake port floors, which again is not an ideal move to make when porting a head.

You are probably right. The tapering might make it looks nicer than gaining much. Since I don't have a flow bench, it is hard to tell for sure.

I measure the Edelbrock intake manifold on the head. It is about 12.5" from the head to the back of the manifold. This is about 1.5" longer than the Skunk 2 intake. This means the Edelbrock will be up close to the firewall on 2g. 1g guys will have plenty of room.
