Has anyone welded a 10an drain onto a 14b/16g?

O town, Illinois
So I welded a -10an drain onto my oil pan. I was wondering if it would be bad to weld a 10an nipple on the drain of the turbo? It would be tig welded. Or is there a fitting for it. I have the 2 bolt flange thing but I don't like it LOL

Correct go -12 if you want to do it once and right, if you measure the ID of a -10 and stock 2g return you will be surprised.

Besides that you could weld one on if you wanted but they have aluminum flanges you can buy that are normally NPT thread in the center so then you would just need an NPT to barb fitting or NPT to AN.

Thanks guys. I already have the 10an drain welded on the pan. I have an aftermarket turbo and it's 10 an drain so I went with that so it makes the future upgrade fast and easy. I have the flange adapter from dsm drain to 10an and a drain line setup already. I was just curious if anyone had done it. It's kinda silly but I'm going all -an on the car so it would have been nice.

I haven't done it and I'm not so sure I'd want to put that kind of heat into an assembled CHRA.

I also wouldn't consider it because there's a good fitting option on the market for putting a -10 male under a Mitsu CHRA. Russell part number 697070.

And although it isn't pictured there, an o-ring is included for sealing it up.

Thanks 99 gst. That's actually what I ended up with. I just hate oil leaks and don't want to take a chance on a new engine and build leaking LOL

If you take your time and full-ass everything, you shouldn't have leaks.
Agreed. If you run the right drain line, the surfaces are clean, you run the right, new gaskets, and you have the stupid seal washers for the oil pan side it shouldnt leak. Dont try to do shit like widening the holes on a 2G drain to fit on a MHI turbo, it will leak because it's more or less impossible to get the god damned line to line up right that way.
