I think i have my exhaust all planned out, just wanted your opinions. I want to go from the o2 housing, to a 2.5 inch pipe and then a glasspack (around where the stock cat would be),then more 2.5 inch pipe, then to a dual tip straight through muffler in the stock location.

No cat.

Does anyone see a problem with this?
Does anyone have a similar set up?

thats only a cat back, im going full 2.5 inch from the o2 housing back. i can get all the work done at a shop for $100. the glasspack and muffler are going to cost me $60.
so i am paying for a full turboback that is the same price as that catback.plus i wanted a little different style muffler than the can.

$100 to fab up an exhaust is pretty cheap in my opinion, if they are capable of compenent welding they I say go for it. I would throw in a flex section though to keep the exhaust from bouncing around too much.

Question, why 2.5"? Go 3" & be done with it. I'm running a custom system as well & have been very happy with it. I had all the pieces, mocked it all up & had a guy come in to weld it all up. It didn't cost me much & I got exactly what I wanted.

I'm running a 2.5" custom DP setup that has a Stock 2.5" 7" long resonator out of an Evo in it with a cutout just before the Cat and the rest of the system is stock....

Ive always ran custom exhaust just cause if you build them yourself you always get the end result you want!!!

I will be rebuilding it with the new Evo 8.5 turbo setup and go with a 3" this time

My buddies evo8 had a 3.5" downpipe to 3" exhaust, with just an end muffler (fart can style, pretty small - almost a glasspack) - it was loud, obnoxious - but my god it sounded great.

Mine would be 3", SS, Mandrel bends, Vibrant universal 3" in/dual 2.5" out, 2.5" slanted tips, & two Vibrant resonators (one of each size they offer, something like 10" & 15"). Mine's not quiet, but not real loud either.

I am very interseted in this set up, do you have any videos?

a glasspack

The problem I have with this is the use of a glasspack. The internal design is straight-through, but is not a perforated core. It will increase exhaust restriction unnecessarily. The glasspack is better suited to an NA muscle car that needs more exhaust roar, and not a FI vehicle of any type. If you look into the glasspack (at a local pep boys or similar store) you'll see the internal design is intrusive and disruptive.

The extra muffling of the glasspack is not needed on a turbo vehicle, as the turbo itself actually does a fair amount of muffling. That coupled with any reasonably sized muffler will be just fine on the street. In my opinion, you'll be better off leaving out the glasspack.

I have a 3 inch o2 housing-back with a single cherry bomb glass pack in the middle. Been like this for about a year and love the sound.

That does not make any sense. A glass pack is straight through. How can a straight through muffler be "intrusive and disruptive"?

I would agree with 4g63tc. I would like to add I have installed three ebay units. They are hard to beat because they are all 304 stainless construction and have held up well in the New England winter and salt. Some of the SS down pipes on ebay are cat delete so that would solve that problem. If you want a different muffler it would be easy to graft onto the ebay exhaust. Would your shop be using mandrel bent 304 SS for your fab job?

The internal design is straight-through, but is not a perforated core.

One style of muffler intrudes into the airflow of the exhaust, and that's disruptive. The other (the perforated core) is still straight through, but much less disruptive, if disruptive at all (probably not discernible).

If you look into the glasspack you'll see the internal design is intrusive and disruptive.

I mentioned these style of mufflers do have their place. It's on non-forced-induction vehicles.

I guess in my opinion that's getting pretty nit-picky. What does that muffler on the right cost you on a turbo car with a 3 in. exhaust? Maybe 1-5 hp max compared to having no muffler at all?

I don't know, but the OP is using 2.5" piping..

I think i have my exhaust all planned out... a 2.5 inch pipe and then a glasspack, then more 2.5 inch pipe

It might be nit-picky, but why use a glasspack?

-It's cheap? Jegs sells a mild steel 2.5" O.D. x 4' pipe for 13.99 plus shipping. They sell the glasspack 2.5" x 28" for 27.99 plus shipping.
-Additional muffler? Why, the turbo and muffler do the job adequately.

Your stock turbo is probably perfectly happy with your 3" glasspack exhaust, that's cool with me. ;) I was just giving my opinion, and providing information the OP might not have known. I still feel that these are reasonable statements:

It will increase exhaust restriction unnecessarily.

The extra muffling of the glasspack is not needed on a turbo vehicle

You have to consider the OP is using a glasspack in addition to a muffler, you're using the glasspack as your muffler. Significant difference.
