This came in today. Forgot I needed an M10x1.25 bolt to block off the OEM feed port, but eh, that'll be rectified shortly.

Soon as I get my check next week I'll be ordering all the turbo fasteners and gaskets so I can finally bolt this FP Green up. God I can't wait! Really hope my downpipe fits because even though I live in the free state of Florida, the EPA is a bunch of power hungry despots and have scared all the local exhaust shops into not touching ANYTHING that doesn't have a cat on it. Such BS.

Anyway, baby steps eventually lead you to running marathons! I am excite!

I actually know a guy who owns a little shop in Brandon who did a cat delete on my old Titan when the cats went out and dealership wanted 2500 to replace. Best 300 bucks ever spent. Was loud as shit though, sounded like a stock car, LOL.

Reminds me of the talon when a crackhead stole the muffler. God it was obnoxious. That’s hilarious though.

I partly wish I was closer to central Florida because of E85 and DSMers I know down there. But the traffic, the congested cities, city folk in general, and their private run EMS services make me super glad I’m up here. Lol.

Well I know literally no DSMers, nowhere to actually get E85 yet (not that I need it yet), have no opinion on the EMS sitch LOL. Just me, my wife, Eris, and my dogs. ;). Oh yah and Eleanor, whoops. You see who’s important..

I know they've got it all over the place in Orlando. I had to resist filling the edge up and switching the tune to the E30 heartbreaker tune. :p Gotta hit some guys up there, there are a few there. Including the guy with the Evo II I bought my black leather interior from! And the 1GB Talon guy I bought my black leather door panels from. There's a few more I know of but don't know personally. But yeah.

The private run EMS thing is a big deal because honestly...private EMS companies suck. IDK if they suck for the patient, but they suck from an employee standpoint. They overwhelmingly treat EMS or patient care like it's a corporate game, so they are SUPER cut-throat about decisions that legitimately are the difference between life and death. Public sector/local goverment run/county EMS tend to have less of a budget so the decisions they make are super strictly patient focused and a much better view of "it's a service to the community" vs "its a business make me money" of the private companies.

True story, the county I work at right now(my home county, I grew up here :) ) both the Chief and the Deputy Chief are both former head honcho firefighters for the Orlando area. :D

I guess it's all preference. If you didn't give a f**k about the patient and just wanted to make money, I guess the private thing wouldn't bug me, but I'm one of these weirdos that enjoys going to work and love to help out. So that ain't it for me, Chief.

I never knew private ems companies were a thing until I started working in the city a few years ago. There's something vaguely unsettling about private companies doing that work to me. Like can they go through red lights like a real ambulance? Can you get a ticket for not pulling over for them? I mean of course I would anyways, but theoretically. It somehow just seems less legit. It presents a slippery slope if they have those privileges as a private company as well and I'm not a big fan of that. I hate change and its not what I'm used to but it just seems somehow... seedy? Less than official? A weird gray area?

Also, ironically, a lot of those city people who have corporate ems services are the same people who want a big government to do everything for them. And conversely, we're more comfortable with a public service but want the government the hell out of our lives LOL. Speaking in broad generalizations of course, not aiming to be political or anything.

Yeah, pretty much they'll announce over the radio or through their software that they share with local PD that they're gonna run emergency traffic(lights and sirens) either by 10 codes, codes, or plain english and you're allowed to run reds and stops. BUT, it's pretty much national law now that you practice something called "due regard" as an emergency vehicle operator. Which means, don't just blow through a stoplight at full speed. Means come to a stop, check that EVERY LANE is stopped and waiting on you, THEN proceed. The days of just blowing through reds are coming to a close. As far as the tickets for not yielding, that depends on the cop and if there is even one around. I have these fu**ing absolute infantile drooling water-headed morons pass me WHILE I'M RUNNING LIGHTS AND SIRENS without a care in the world and I've yet to see anyone ticketed. So yeah. To everyone that's not Tina94, please just pull the f**k over when you see an ambulance coming up on you, and don't pass us even if we're going slower than you. I have had to suddenly dodge more idiots who blew past me running emergency traffic because people in front of THEM actually yield or slow down. Don't be an ass.

And conversely, we're more comfortable with a public service but want the government the hell out of our lives LOL. You're not wrong. The irony isn't lost on me either that I'd much rather work for the public sector in this instead of the private sector. Big government vs small. It's all true. Lol. It's like topsy turvy world.

Tons of good advice here. I've actually had that bypass spring/whatever it is out recently, and the oil cooler ports are already blocked by the previous owner. The engine is freshly rebuilt and I wonder if it's because he didn't delete the bypass or whatever. Either way, gonna yank it out and pull the spring out and just not run a cooler. Super glad I asked this, and super thankful to all of yall!

So dying to drive this car again. I've recently gotten a promotion after only a couple months working for this county, so that = more pay (and a ton more benefits. I'm now technically a state employee/federal employee so I get the state of FL's retirement perks and paid sick/vacation/PTO etc. huge plus) and will eventually mean I can start buying more and more parts for this thing and get it running soon.

I don't believe in jinxes, so I'll just say flatly I hope this engine doesn't have a rod knock or something stupid due to a terrible build quality. I make more than I have pretty much ever, but it's still gonna suck if I need a new engine. I'm already semi-planning for it though. Gonna go with a simple built 2.0L if the worst should happen, and probably swap to a 2G head with an Evo 3 IM.

Regardless. Can't wait to drive this thing. Even if it's short lived. Lol.

Waiting for that first big check always sucks. I want to spend money already!

But yeah, gonna order a small grip of parts this Friday soon as my damn check is deposited. Lol. Probably gonna be all the stuff I need to bolt the turbo up completely, and some brake lines. Maybe something else, we'll see. Would really like to bolt this turbo up though! Dying to see it in the engine bay.

Tons of good info here. Seriously, appreciate the hell out of it fellas.

Also, placed my order from JNZTuning today. I am excited! Just a small order.

:D LOL

Part of my shipment arrived today. Pretty pleased, but like an idiot I ordered only one turbo to drain bolt. Lol. Doh.

Been a f**king rough couple days so this was nice to see.

Woot. Small parts pile. Everything I need(and a little more) to bolt the FP Green up finally.

IMG_4259.jpeg

Got some Delrin Shifter Bushings for the transmission too. One is seized onto the selector, and the other is an OEM rubber guy. So, figured I'd just go with these since everything says it's better for the trans than a solid metal bushing.

IMG_4262.jpeg

Got my purty brake line to replace the one that disintegrated itself in my hand. Went with a nice red, because this car really wants some red accents and I love it.

OEM conical washers and bolts. Woot! Very excited to get this turbo on and in place. It'll feel real at that point! Also got an OEM stud and nut for the o2 housing instead of trying to fight a bolt in there. Various gaskets(turbo inlet and oil drain), and etc. You see what is there I'm sure.

Excited for the rest of the stuff to get here and to get this turbo on and bolted down finally. I am excite.

Heads up to anyone that might not know this, but any kind of flammable liquids that you order on Amazon, are not eligible for a refund, exchange, or return for any reason. So if you order Boostane Professional off of Amazon and all of it leaked out during shipping due to damaged product/mishandled product? You're out $32. Too bad, so sad, nothing we can do.

I asked, and same thing applies to literally anything flammable. Rubbing Alcohol, oils, anything. Order a case of $120+ racing oil? Lose all of it or most leaks out during shipping? Too bad.

Ended up getting a refund from Amazon. Just did it via the automated system and claimed “product not received, container empty” which wasn’t a lie. Lol. The container was empty.

But, ordered a few more bolts for the rear engine mount and stuff. I got an oil feed delete plug from extremePSI and got it today. Installed it up so that was nice. No more tape blocking the hole.

As of right now I’m only officially waiting on antiseize before I can install my turbo and button everything up. At that point I’ll just need a battery and I can start it. Kinda scary man.

But, still gotta find time to do it all. Appreciate all the comments and likes y’all.

What did you decide with the hood? Dumping the carbon fiber and going back to stock? (Fingers crossed LOL)

I'm probably gonna keep it. Partly because no one local(or far away and willing to drive to me) has answered my ads or anything. Also partly because this hood is original to the car and I think that's pretty awesome. I'll just modify/ghetto-rig the radiator brackets to hold new pins so the hood is actually secured again.

Yeah that's what you do, use their automated return thing. Sometimes they'll give you an immediate refund and tell you don't even send the bad one back. With Prime anyway.
I've found Amazon is a good way to buy Valvoline VR1 Full Synthetic motor oil, which is hard to find otherwise.
Today I got 1 quart (one) of VR1 from them, packed in a cute little box made just the right size for 1 qt, and a plastic bag inside of that. And I could watch the position of the delivery truck real-time on the tracking map. Jeez.
(Wanted just 1 quart of 10w-30 to thin down my 20w-50 a little bit)

But I don't buy my Wix oil filters from Amazon anymore. Strange. They've packed them horribly. So I buy Wix from Rock Auto now and they do fine. Their shipping costs though.

Honestly rock auto shipping prices are exorbitant. It stops me from shopping there quite a lot. Most of the time it’s like only a few bucks more to get it at a parts store.

Also, for the thread, ordered the bolts I need to bolt up the rear mount to the block and the subframe. I also decided I’m not using the old o2 housing bolts so I just ordered all new OEM mitsu ones. Getting so close now!

I’ve noticed with rockauto the trick is to try to pick stuff that will all ship from one location or on a bigger order 2 locations, sometimes picking the part that’s a couple bucks more saves shipping, but again sometimes I’m after a specific brand or part so that doesn’t work out so I see your pain there. My last haul I did good but that’s because I bought brakes for the wife’s mom mobile and an ac line for it while ordering the rear shocks to go with the lowering stuff for my truck. Got Raybestos rotors for $30 a piece versus $100 a piece for house brand rotors for a 17 year old Freestar minivan amongst other things, therefore I saved a ton that round.
