Just a quick question but where did you get that laptop Mount? And if you don't mind me asking how much you payed for it? Love your build by the way! Very inspirational.

Built not bought, and thank you for the words

Is your exhaust pipe touching the converted talon bumper cutout? It looks very close. Second the laptop mount question. Does the mount fold up/stow when not in use?

In the pic yes, the exhaust fit perfect for Eclipse bumpers but Talons are over more, its been fixed tho.
Laptop mount is just a single bolt and its out, although it doesn't actually get in the way too bad

Progress again finally! Ive been totally wrapped up with my Supra while Ive been waiting for my turbo upgrade... I stocked up a few parts but for the most part the car sat most of this time. Basically all the parts Ive been outgrowing have been getting either sold or handed down to the Supra.
So first of all Im going from a O2 housing EWG to off of the exhaust manifold

The turbo came in today

IMAG0054_zpsf3ad3c42.jpg

IMAG0055_zps69125ffd.jpg

So really trying for some more simplicity on this one... V-band outlet, no O2H, and moving the EWG.
Specs are its a TD06H4 hotside, with a billet 11 blade 3076 compressor wheel in downfiring cover. First order of business was to port match everything... which is a ton of work for me since the T3 exhaust mani is a little off compared to the turbo inlet
IMAG0057_zps2ce42579.jpg

If you look close you can see one sides flush, another is off.... no worries tho I always make due with whatever Ive got
IMAG0056_zps4f53d612.jpg

So just making a thin plate to port match it, we'll see how it turns out. I ported the shit out of the exhaust mani, there was a lot of nasty casting marks and cleaning up to be done. I didn't take many pics cause it was a 14 hour day, more to come thanks for reading

...and as promised (as if you cared LOL) The Saturn alternator went on
IMAG0114_zps1aa8396e.jpg

IMAG0115_zps2c41ae5d.jpg

Quite a lot of clearancing involved but its all good once its on.
Finally all done with all the work on the manifold... port matching, resurfacing all mating surfaces, and of course porting for flow as well.
IMAG0119_zps21f13c2e.jpg

IMAG0120_zpsbf16b8c0.jpg

....and guess what?! The turbine housing hits the block! I was real nervous on the clearancing of this one... I took a little off of both the block and the housing... Its very close but at least the gasket surfaces will sit flush
IMAG0121_zpsf3682f70.jpg

IMAG0122_zps47fadd44.jpg

Had to run one of the water lines (the one that doesn't go into the turbo but runs all around the thing along the block) in a totally different way to clear the compressor housing, put it BEHIND the lower rad hose, Also had to do some more lines in soft line... the front water line was totally different so changed that, and the oil drain was different as well. Basically this manifold sits the turbo lower and possibly a little closer to the block.
IMAG0127_zps45f43a0e.jpg

I started on the downpipe, that part is gonna be a bi***, super tight when you do V-band outlet. thatll take up most of tomorrow and maybe itll fire up
IMAG0124_zps8c6cdce5.jpg

Looking good bro! My buddy went through a similar headache running a holset on a t3 mani, the downpipe was the biggest bi***! external wastegate ftw, looking forward to updates!

Thanks!

So the car runs in and out of the shop at least...turbine housing hit the block so had to have the machine shop bevel resurface the mani
IMAG0150_zpsb4fd4d3f.jpg

Intake setup is done, hotside charge pipe is good, wastegate clears the hood and closes now. Just got some more plumbing to do, and one of my coolant softline is leaking junk fml.

Car officially hit the road on Tue the 12th. The mandatory idle/cruise logs went pretty quick, I didn't know what the EWG was rated for out of the box so I ran it as is, and it was a measly 7psi...
EA1726E5-C4D0-4245-A8CC-88999AA4B576-1657-0000024F79BB11B1_zpsaead8e99.jpg

so day 2 it came out and a spring was added. 12psi. Still not nearly enough. I added a third spring on day 3 which bumped me to 15. I started the WOT tuning, worked in the water/meth injection and worked the boost up to 20. I must say HOLY SHIT. This thing has a ton more top end, it pulls like a raped ape. I attached a log for any interested. I saw just under 40 lbs/min, and very modest timing, its 4 less across the board than what I normally run. Spool is about 600 rpm later, which isn't the end of the world, when it hits its like you got rear ended by a mac truck. Im hoping to work up to 25 psi, which should be even more exciting! The sound of the car is actually much different as well, its way more hollow/tinny with the freed up hotside, I don't like it, it lost its deep tone. Plus the muffler isn't ideal, details details. But all in all this thing is impressing the hell out of me and anyone Ive been giving a ride to and cant wait to get it all dialed in

well the rewired walbro 190 started to show its limits after 25psi of boost... so the whole fuel system got an upgrade. A Bosch 044 went on a modified stock hangar, -6 AN from tank to rail, then an aeromotive regulator. Ive been working back up to 25psi and seeing where the new turbo likes to really sing

So Its time! Theres 215k on the clock, and on the stock (ish) trans/longblock. Starting to feel like Im pressing my luck so starting the build Ive been collecting for.
2G head cleaned up and ready to go to the machine shop.

Cool build, what internals are you going to be using with the motor build?

Thanks, Leaning towards Eagle H beams and forged pistons that are 8.5-9.0 comp.

Wow man nice progress! Like the 1gb conversion well done. Did you end up selling your mk2? I seen it up on the forums awhile back but dont know what happened.

Thanks, The HIDs are what make it so worth it.
Hell no didnt sell it! It gave me a lot of grief but I manned up and went to work on it, found some nasty fuel tank debris, clogged prefilter, bad CAS, bad maf, felt boost for a day then the turbo went out, rebuilt it, and now shes a beast. Spins 2nd from a roll, ran a 13.83@103 at the stock 7psi boost. I just parked the DSM and Supra is the backup car, spins 4th in the rain its crazy fun.

Awesome! Its good to here you kept the mk2, you put way to much work into it to call it quits. By the look of it your already well on the way to another bad ass build, where you get the money for everything I dunno but keep it coming!:thumb:

Wow thats a lot of useful info, thank you

Its because Im single and dont do drugs LOL. That gives you a lot of disposable income. Also I fix up piles of crap over time. Camaro was free, Supra was $100, DSM was $2700. Thanks for the props

Heres what probably will be the last vid of the high mileage stock 6 bolt. 25 psi, flowing 49 lbs/min

Theyre 35mm/31.5mm. Ill be taking everything to the machine shop soon so everything will get its work. I was concerned about shrouding though. I wanted to see if I get the combustion chamber opened up a bit, but the headgasket doesnt give me any room to do so.

Pulled the engine/trans. From driving it in to having it on the ground it was 4 hours.

I was anxious to see how clean the intake ports/combustion chambers would be after all this time and spraying water/meth for about a year.
6148E4EF-A524-4B8C-874C-02FE8259EF0E_zpsbnzrp0lc.jpg

Intake ports were crazy clean, but CC still had a lot of buildup which wouldve probably made hotspots to help induce knock

I think I found the culprit for the noisy bearing in the trans, theres one thats pitted and worn.

So, update time. First- the trans carnage
