I have a 90 GST that I've been having problems out of.

When originally put on SD, everything ran fine but then I changed the throttle body and seemed to have all kinds of hell out of her for the last 2 years. Well I think I found my culprit in the MAP sensor connector was shorting out.

Now I've got her moving under her own power but I don't wanna mess anything up again so hoping I can post a few logs and have somebody with some knowledge help me out.

As stated the car is a 90 GST and mods are of course SD, FP manifold, bored .20 over then ARP headstuds and new gasket, Walbro 255 pump, TRE 1000cc injectors, FMIC, 2.5 turbo back exhaust AEM wideband in front O2, stock 14b turbo for now.

I am going to post 2 logs. First one is cold start and you can see how my AFR starts good then slowly goes lean. Second one is at operating temperature, it's only about 30 seconds long because the car dies and won't start back up. My battery jumper died so I figured this was at least a start to see what I may need to do to the car or in DSMLink.

Thanks beforehand with any and all help, its greatly appreciated!

No problem dude that is what we are here for.

Can someone confirm he has the fpr vacuum line correct?
I used the original vacuum from the factory for when I took it off just assumed.. that was part of my trying to figure out rich condition that I originally had after throttle body replacement. All fuel mods were done after that. Fpr, injectors, and fuel pump

Well, his hose from the FPR goes back behind the other solenoid (which I guess is the Purge Control solenoid) and what does it do back there? I can't tell, and I don't remember what these solenoids look like anymore. Is it bypassing the solenoid, going around behind it, and connecting to what I think he is calling the "bottom" hose? For the bottom hose he says "The bottom hose goes to the intake nipple closest to the regulator side on the rail" which doesn't make any sense to me. Maybe that means it goes to a port on the intake manifold?
The 2 hoses that go behind the Purge Control solenoid, maybe they aren't connected to each other, maybe they both are connected to the solenoid?
That solenoid in stock configuration has hoses that go back to the throttle body. That would be completely wrong for feeding vacuum and boost to the FPR. Well it would be some level of wrong. That solenoid shouldn't be in the hose circuit at all anyway, shouldn't be used.

I ask because that vacuum line to the regulator tells the regulator to raise fuel pressure with boost. If it does not, or even worse doesn't 100%, you are in for a BAD time.

Correct the hose on the bottom I am re

Hose labeled in red goes to the intake manifold right behind the rail to the solenoid then the green goes to fpr and the white is map. So should I just run the hose from manifold right to the fpr and find a new location for the map and then just remove the solenoid entirely? Or just block all the nipples on that?

I don’t know if this will help you or not, best photo I have at the moment, but the red circle is the port I used to run line the directly to FPR with no T’s or anything, just its own source.

Ok, so your hose that is marked up in red goes around to a port on the front of the intake manifold - that's the port I have a red arrow drawn to in that diagram I showed in post #21.
You could still use this hose, but disconnect it from the solenoid and connect it with a T to the hose that you marked up in green which goes to the FPR. Then on that T, you have one leg of it available, put your MAP hose to that! Of course the green hose has to be disconnected from the solenoid too, to do this.
So now you will have the red hose, the green hose, and the MAP hose, all connected to each other, and that solenoid is outa there!

Yes it's better if you can have the FPR and the MAP sensor hooked up some way where they don't have to share vacuum with anything else.
On the 1g manifold, as I remember we just have the 2 vacuum ports on the front - the one he is using, and the other one which usually is used to run the blowoff valve (green arrow hose in post #21 picture). Then we also have the 1 port on the back of the intake manifold that goes to the brake booster.
We don't want the MAP hose going to the blowoff valve line or to the brake booster line, so it's kind of limiting.

Forgot he was 1g, oops 😅

Something like this is helpful.

A big vacuum line like the PB line. 3/8"

Sorry, but why? Based on the rest of your post here, it seems you’re aiming for the ideal placement which, perhaps, the throttle body nipples are not. Just curious to the reasoning.
If I'm not mistaken, at least on the 2g, only one of the ports provides vacuum and boost. And I think they are rather small to run to a distribution block. I use one for my boost gauge, but its only a quick reference for a gauge while the MAP sensor data handles the real work.

The ‘90 throttle body is the same - one port after the throttle plate to see vacuum and boost. That’s why I ask.

For the intents and purposes of getting things moving along for the OP, why not use that port on the throttle body for the MAP sensor? Even if it’s just temporary, get things working and get a better port plan for the future.

To be clear, I’m not I suggesting putting a manifold on one of the TB ports. There would need to be a different source for something like that.

Alright guys, i haave switched over deleting the solenoids and just teed into the fpr vacuum line. Definitely getting vacuum with the map now so maybe this log will help but now the car is dying after starting. i tried a few times in this log to just start it then on the third or fourth try i started blipping the throttle trying to hold it around 2000 rpm. i may be low on fuel so im taking the wife out for dinner and will grab some while im out. but here is that log of starting the car after moving the vacuum lines. as always thanks again. were definitely moving in the right direction!
