      OK now that I see where that is, I would agree not related to dwell but heat from the head/plug. If you don't have good contact to the plug, it will arc there and definitely create more heat. Are the 2 cars running different plugs?

      I've seen some testing, the replica DENSO coils do crack and overheat. Toyota cancelled their coil production with Denso years ago, now the only OEM brand new coils you can get is through BOSCH, each coil costs 60$ or so, I'm ordering a set now...
