That last pic kinda makes it look like a supra with the kit still on :p however I put my vote as wingless if stocker skirts are going back on. Lots of work cut out for this project. Good luck :thumb:

yes stocker skirts are going on. Ive already ripped(literally) the fiberglass skirts off. they hung wayyy to low and were damaged bad. And also held on with drywall screws.

I really like the wingless look, but that high rise looks so sexy. I will more than likely keep it wingless since I refuse to change the rear bumper/lights...and probably front bumper as well.

Update for today:

No pics sorry :(

But the oil/antifreeze are drained, intake piping is pulled, TD05H is pulled, has some pretty bad shaft play both in and out and axis based play.

Im a big fan of wings :) I wote for the biggest one of the ones you gave posted pictures of.

good luck with the build

Got some more done today even though I was on limited time. Exhaust and intake manifold are pulled, the wiring is a mess on this car so I will be deleting alot of it. The previous owner said the head was ported, but damn I did not know it was this ported.

Im hoping to have the head off sometime next week on my next day off, after that its saving for DSM link, manley pistons, bearings, machine work, and more goodies!

Cool fact, this head was built just 1500 miles ago when the megan coilovers were put on. I think ill stick my HKS 264 cams in here and see how they work on a ported head :)

for some reason the camera keeps tinting everything with a bronze color. The head is actually perfect, no brown/rust coloration or residue.

nice man, your right she is in rough shape body wise, as for the wing I vote the 2gb eclipse wing! wingless does look good but the eclipse wing takes the cake for me. good luck!! :D

Thanks bro. Im down to pulling the lower timing covers and taking the head off. I have the chiltons manual but it is not descriptive at all.....says "take the lower covers off"....DAFUQ AM I SUPPOSED TO DO THAT?! LOL, its a maze down that drivers side part of the motor.

Im actually going wingless LOL. In the process of rebuilding the 16G to get rid of and start tearing everything apart.

Dropped the 6bolt block off at the machine shop, gonna have it checked out. The car is down to being at TDC and I need to pull the harmonic balancer to go any further. After that the head is coming off and then pulling the short block to sell and pick up my Manley pistons!

Sorry for no pics, I have absolutely no idea where my camera is LOL

Right now the car has the OEM 2G cast manifold which had the EvoIII 16G on it. I am currently rebuilding the 16G but will not use it. I will be using a Master power 60trim that uses a T3 housing. So Im gonna find me a T3 style manifold soon.

I have been toying around with the wing, I love the wingless look but that high rise has me bitten bad LOL. I am gonna hang onto both wings and decide which one I like once I can get the car out and rolling around with a running motor. Ill just tape it on and park it a few places around the yard and street to see how it looks.

Ive got thursday off, hoping to hear from the machine shop about my 6bolt block. After that Im gonna try and get the head off and make sure its good. Then BODYWORK!

Lol there are a lot of people that want that wing. But Im going to try it on tomorrow and see.

As far as the 60 trim goes, Ive been debating running it. Its such a small A/R. I was really hoping to already have an HX35/40 in my hands by now but the search for one is painful....either ruined or $500+ that needs rebuilt

Well I'm planning my build out right now, and think I've settled on a 50trim of some sort. I've been talking to one of moderaters who hit 403whp on the stock block and head running a 50 trim. I have about 7 pages of.info I've been writing down just planning out the build. I'm also looking for around 400hp to the wheels, so if you want any info i'll be glad to let you in.

Got some more done today, alternator removed, harmonic balancer off(was a breeze), timing covers off...in pieces. They were trashed so I tossed them, gonna get some new ones off a junk car or the dealer.

The head is completely free! ARP's came loose just fine with no issues. Discovered why there is low compression in 3/4 cylinders....cylinder walls are like Glass, I almost guarantee the rings quit sealing XD

its getting there, next to come is pulling the trans/transfer case.
*** if anyone has tips for this please let me know, Ive pulled them on trucks before but not a car.

I also got the high rise wing taped onto the trunk today and just stood around a looked at it from various angles, its growing on me so I may keep it and run it on the talon bodystyle. I have yet to see one like this so Im pretty excited to do it.

As always comments/questions/tips/advice welcome!

Looks like you got a nice project on your hands bro! and IMHO i think the 2gb talon wingless looks awesome! and one thing i can never under stand is how these cars get so trashed?? I mean i love a good rebuild but its a shame how these cars get so messed up and ruined.. :f-u: idk how it happens its not like there exaclty cheap cars when they were new they were 20k plus and have so much potential! why must kids ruin them.. Atleast your gonna make it beautiful again tho! :D

i've seen some kids treat their civics nicer than ive seen middle aged men treat their mid life crisis z06. i guess it's all about the personality.

very true i personally know a couple kids in town with complete shit box's but they love them to death i just cant get it past me how you can just completely trash a car like these though it does nothing but hurt how the car looks and kills the value

The original owner of the car is a friend of mine, we went to highschool together. And during his courses at Wyotech University he didnt really clean it LOL. The car always had tools in it, clothes, and just dirty.

Im the same way as far as having trashed cars, I just dont understand how people can ruin them....my DD is an old honda hatchback, rebuilt title, bodywork is a bit rough with fiberglass patch. But the interior is spotless. Nearly showroom floor quality with a little bit of wear.

Look on the pick up forums. I picked up a working 6 blade hx40 for $150 and a working hx35 last week for $165. Then of course you have to buy an turbin housing if you dont wanna use the stock one.
