The original owner of the car is a friend of mine, we went to highschool together. And during his courses at Wyotech University he didnt really clean it LOL. The car always had tools in it, clothes, and just dirty.

Im the same way as far as having trashed cars, I just dont understand how people can ruin them....my DD is an old honda hatchback, rebuilt title, bodywork is a bit rough with fiberglass patch. But the interior is spotless. Nearly showroom floor quality with a little bit of wear.

Exactly when you have a car that you bought new literally all you ahve to do it wash it and sweep the interior out and it will look brand new forever minus normal wear and tear LOL and ya thats cool that you have a honda as a DD all that matters on a car that isnt the one you care about is that the interior that you sit in is nice thats all that would matter to me a personal pet peeve of mine is dirty grimy interior it makes me sick :barf: if my friends is dirty ill clean it myself haha

Look on the pick up forums. I picked up a working 6 blade hx40 for $150 and a working hx35 last week for $165. Then of course you have to buy an turbin housing if you dont wanna use the stock one.

There is a guy in my local area (Mckinney, TX) selling a 7 blade HX35 for $170 right now. Its been on Craigslist since Mar 27th.

Yeah Im up in Ohio, it shouldnt honestly be that hard for me to get one around here...TONS of farm boys trying to upgrade from the HX turbos to 70trims for truck pulls....and its a farming area where I live.

I got some free time after work this afternoon so I looked some more at the wing situation and decided to give the high rise a try. So on my day off monday I will be drilling and mounting the high rise wing and fiberglassing the holes up for the pre-existing solar wing.

Oh and I found this today...crawled under the car to pull the downpipe off....and saw the wonderful cause of raised floorboards.....

fantastic.
All of the fuel lines are even bent....So now I have to wonder if this car has ever been wrecked.....looks like I have no choice but to upgrade to -6 AN line now

The car could of been improperly lifted. They put the jack under the soft metal and keep jacking up the car causing the floor to lift.

Yeah now Im puzzled as to how I can get the floorboards back down so that the underbody can be re-welded

Small update:

The greddy FMIC is gone along with all of the pipe for it. Traded it for $100, LSD Rearend, transfer case for a 2G, and a set of 450cc injectors. So not too bad. Ill be shopping for a new Mitshumoto FMIC with short route pipe, Ill be sure to keep you all updated!

Soon to come:

Monday/Tuesday are my days off this week, so I am going to do my best to get the high rise wing mounted, do some sand blasting, and get to sanding the entire body. Im waiting to hear back from a family friend about a transmission jack for $200 so hopefully I have my shep trans out soon and can get the block pulled!

got some more done today, mounted the high rise wing, and started the body work....pumpkin XD

SAM_0651.jpg

mounted the wing via front bolts and used putty to find the exact spot for the rear bolt hole to be drilled

SAM_0655.jpg

SAM_0656.jpg

i added nice thick home made washers since the wing was just on one piece of metal.

i absolutely love the 2gb talons!! everybody turns them into eclipses, still cool cars but id trade my 2gb eclipse for a talon any day!

but good luck on the build my friend, to each there own!

I still have the stock solar wing, so if I come to really not like it then i can always swap back...or go wingless LOL.

Not sure where you saw 450's? I am ditching those from the get go and going 1000cc minimum.

I love the talon look, but I am not too fond of the wing. So I am keeping the talon body style with a wing change, or just run wingless like noted earlier in the thread. Either way Im sure it will look good :)

I just have yet to see a Talon with Eclipse high rise wing ANYWHERE I go. So I figured I would be different....or run the wing on Adils supra XD

Got the head back from the machine shop today, it looks so perrrty.

And the back doesnt smell like rat piss anymore....now the car reeks of fiberglass resin XD

forgot to do the oil port mod before i took the head into the shop, but it has revised lifters so I may not need it afterall, does not look like its been resurfaced too many times

I have a 2gb eclipse and just picked up a 2gb talon that is my awd donor car. the solar wing is gone but i plan on making a little project and filling the holes and then painting it to match my car. then i will have 2 hatches for different looks. a 2gb highrise and wingless that will take notime to switch out. i wish the talon came with the front bumper so i could have put that on. they look soo agressive almost evo like

Yeah I have gotten numerous offers to swap front bumpers from the 98-99eclipse bumper, but I love the talon one. It does have that aggressive look.

Once again got some more done today, moved the wiring harness around, and started getting things ready to pull the transfer case/transmission/motor (dont have a engine hoist :( )

Almost all of the fiberglass bodywork is done, I had to cover the holes that were left over from the previous owner mounting the fiberglass sideskirts with drywall screws...sigh

I also laid two big sheets in the back where there was the mouse nest(and reeked of piss). most of the metal had rotted away and i needed to reinforce it.....

Goodbye to the nasty bright orange door jams. IDC if it is spray on header paint, just glad that pumpkin orange is gone haha

SAM_0755.jpg

got the layers of fiberglass set in the back, still in drying process
SAM_0756.jpg

fiberglass hard as a rock :)
SAM_0757.jpg

when my friend had the car a few years back someone backed into him in the parking lot, it permanently bent the support inside the car WTF!! LOL
SAM_0760.jpg

this is the passenger side where they ran drywall screws into the body to mount the side skirts. all the red holes are from the drywall screws, the green holes up top is where i drilled to pull the massive dents
SAM_0761b.jpg

and the drivers side.....
SAM_0762b.jpg

this is how the motor sits now, all ready for disassembly....just need an engine hoist :(
SAM_0764.jpg

I put small patches of fiberglass behind each hole where they mounted the side skirts, that way i can just smear bondo into the hole and let it set up, instead of having to sand down an entire quarter panel.

Up next on the list after pulling the motor and such is pulling the rest of the 3" exhaust out and cleaning the rust off of it and then a nice coating to seal it.

-fuel pump rewire
**may need a new fuel pump cover, the metal hose is kinked on top(just another excuse for AN fittings teehee
-walbro255 fuel pump
-6 AN fuel lines(stock lines are crushed)
-AFPR
-VRSF intercooler kit

Then its time to start ordering engine rebuilding parts and some more goodies!!!!

Yea, the twisties are hard to find, they were only on the 95. The 'ridges' are just part of the bumper cover, not an add on. I believe this is a standard 2GB front and rear (2GA's do not have the ridge).
Love your work!

I must still have the 2ga back bumper then, it has the small pinstripe around it. And yeah, the car is a 95 but the previous owner tore them off and tossed them for aftermarket skirts....Made me sad.

Thank you BTW! Its been tough so far, and its gonna be a long ride before its done.

Ill decide down the road LOL, Im more concerned with getting the old 7bolt pulled out and getting the 6bolt built. I need to go ahead and order my VRSF FMIC kit today...idk why im stalling haha

New Goodies!!!

I wonder what this could be XD

Im actually in the middle of chatting with jusmx(who i bought from) over which manifold/housing to run. I know the twin scroll housing with a divided manifold is awesome, but im looking for a more cost friendly setup.
