2G 2g Fuel Pump Questions

So I'm confused. What do we do with the already present fuel pump relay on the passenger side center kick panel?

You leave that alone, it's the source of the wire going to pin 86. The ECU controls it and the point of the rewire is to provide a more robust power feed to the pump than the wire from this relay. So we add a better power feed and use the original to activate the new relay.

Oh I have problems with mine. Turn key on the fuel pump comes on. Turn to run no crank and fuel pump Turn off

Typically the fuel pump wire mod is to have a stronger dedicated relay giving power to the fuel pump.

So the new relay receives the same original 12v power supply from the oem relay, but the aftermarket relay would have a direct feed from the battery with thicker wire directly to the battery.

Why would you leave the original relay alone? Because you still want the car to behave the way it was engineered. Problem solving is simpler when you can use the factory repair manual, instead of having to try to remember how to fix your car 3 years from now, trying to remember how you hot wired the fuel pump to come on

Can you wire up a relay for the fuel pump on its own to get rid of the factory relay? Sure; can you remember how you did it 3 years from now when the car starts having problems? Maybe

Bro i get that. My car has been down for a year and right now today I can un plug the fuel pump relay turn ignition on and fuel pump still power on. But with relay plugged in if I unplug the mpi relay the fuel pump turns off. I know its not supposed to come on until turn key to run. On top of this the starter that works wont crank with key
