14b install help!

Ok I just rebuilt a 14b turbo and I want to put in my 2g eclipse
I have everything ready I'll be feedting the turbo from the head using the 1g oil line and just top the oil housing from the t25. And reuse the water lines, Now I have two questios!

1- Can I reuse the 2g oil drain?

The must importan!

2- I have the stock j pipe from the 14b, does this work with my stock SMI??

The oil drains are the same, but the J pipe doesnt really fit the 2g's. The 2g version J pipes are angeled more towards the passengers side of the 2g's, and usually have a 90 degree bend on the bottom to allow them to connect to the stock side mount. They sell them cheep on ebay and such sites. I had one on my car when I had my 14B that I bought for 35 bucks.

Sorry but the 2g oil drain does NOT fit the 14b. I had to dig around looking for my 1g drain. The bolt holes on the 2g are to far apart.

It doesn't bolt right up but you can save yourself $60-$80 if you've got a dremel. Just dremel the bolt holes on the 2g oil drain to line up to the tdo5 turbo, easy/cheap fix, just be sure to use a NEW gasket when you tighten everything up.

Slot the two holes on the turbo-side flange of the 2G drain toward center about 1/8" each. This literally takes 20 seconds if you have a die grinder and a carbide bit. The 2G drain fits better, is lighter, cheaper, and will not crack at the flex like a 1G drain.

Your lower intercooler pipe is going to require some custom fabrication no matter what j-pipe you're using. I'm not sure if there's a vendor who actually sells something direct-fit which makes this an easy task with the stock intercooler.

I stand corrected... i do remember making the bolt holes oval in order to bolt it up now that it was mentioned. ( its been a long time ) but once thats done it fit perfectly.

When I did my 14b install I collected the parts over a few weeks, I used the 1g feedline, 1g return line and used all of my coolant lines from the T-25.

I had that setup w/stock intercooler, but a evoIII 16g on my 2g, pretty sure they have the same flanges. I had the 2g oil drain and just had the turbo side flange bolt holes ovaled out and worked perfect. You can use a dremel. I had a aftermarket J pipe that was angled to the passenger side and a 90 degree pipe for the bottom intercooler pipe. If I remember correctly the bottom IC pipe was to short so I had to get a 9 or 12 inch long silicone coupler to reach the stock intercooler. Worked great for 1 1/2 years and I was boosting about 22 lbs. Like some have posted you can get the after market J pipe through ebay or other stores. The only problem I had was the J pipe was hitting the stock radiator fan a little bit, but still fit with a bit of a push. Hope this helps.
