Nice to see the OGs here. Note, I have been into DSMs longer. My post was just showing how long I have been registered on here. I have taken a break from DSMs for a year. It's amazing just how much time I have these days..... Keep boosting! I will be getting another DSM this year. I really want a GVR4 if I can score one. That is my 1st love.

Been in to DSM for 14 years now. My Spyder has been apart for longer than most of the guys have been around. Bought it new in 98, swapped it to AWD in 2000, and it has been sitting back apart since 2001 and I just put it back together this year.

Over the years I have 40+ 1g's, 5 2g's, 3 2g's Spyders, Evo 1, Evo 3, 2 4g63t swapped mirages, 89 original turbo mirage hatch, 2 other CSM's

I'm now married, 2 kids with a 3rd on the way. Getting out and wrenching on the car is therapy for me.

I also don't really have a timeline to have the car done with this new setup, no races to attend or classes to build it for. This is for me to enjoy and I'll probably never get rid of the car. One of my boys will probably love it, even if it'll be in classic status when he gets his license in 10 years.

It's funny how when you get a little older, terms like "project" and "elbow grease" are just another way of saying "pain in the ass". The idea of building my 1g still excites me since I've never been able to do what I've always wanted with it. However, the challenge of getting it done has gone from fun to very difficult due to the lack of time and money I've had to put into it the last few years. And now with my Talon and all of its "challenges" I've definitely lost some of the desire to work on these cars that I used to have.

Part of me wants to work on a car that has a better aftermarket and is less finicky even if that also means less power potential and less "what the hell kind of car is that" factor. An old musclecar has been sounding like a lot of fun lately. Challenging and rewarding in a different way than a DSM. I'll probably do both.

5 Years for me. First was a 2g AWD talon in March 2021, 2nd DSM was a 2g Talon Base in Jan 2025, and 3rd was an Eclipse GSX just a few weeks ago.
I've got all the DSMs I could ever need and then some. I'll never forget my first Shootout at the 30th in 2023, its really what keeps me going in this portion of the hobby.
