What exhaust manifold to head stud kit is that? I like the blue hue tying into the rest of the bay. That's an impressive manifold and turbo combo you have!

Thanks! I got a titanium exhaust manifold stud kit from JD Customs in the burnt finish.

I’m just going to say that thing is fu&#ing gangster! Love it
haha Thank you!

Got a big dumb smile seeing this! Can not wait

Also, love that you installed it moments after it arrived :)

Hey All,

So the car is currently with Chris at Red Rocket Racing in Syracuse Indiana for an 8.50 cage, chute mount, and also having Chris do up a more tubular upper core/radiator support in an attempt to open up some more room in the engine bay. As of now, not totally sure when the car will be finished up, but this is giving me time to do some other things around the house and also clean out that damn garage.

Here's the car pretty much done with prepping it for the cage:

433369593_782538873936976_8361526435303051229_n.jpg

I have been collecting some odds and ends though while the car has been gone. I picked up a Chris Wymer billet forward (rear) drum and also finally pulled the trigger on a billet front clutch drum from @kiggly Racing. Both are beautiful units, and I'm looking forward to tossing them in when the trans is out next. Chris's forward drum should eliminate the issues of cracks forming around the splines on the OEM units. Although I haven't completely failed a 5 friction front clutch pack in the OEM front drum, I usually always saw a decent amount of ware on the fricitons. I'm not sure if they will be enough for the new poower that the next gen turbo will provide. So, it made sense to finally go with the stronger front clutch set up.

Anyway, here are some pictures!

Chris's forward (rear) drum: pictured along with a shipment of new Raybestos Stage 1 RED frictions and new steels to assemb rear clutch packs:

And the Kiggly billet front clutch with the 6 friciton clutch pack that goes with it:

OEM return spring installed and ready to go when the time comes! The small springs that come with the kit (seen in the photo above) are just placed inside the OEM larger springs on the return spring assembly.

I'm also going to be putting together a coil on plug set up. I'm really just after not having to deal with the coil pack being under the intake manifold anymore. Just need to wire the coils up and trim the boots to length. Hopefully I can get the wiring correct on the first shot! I also think it'll look nice.

Can't wait to get the car back and see the cage! I'm sure the next post I make will be showing that off.

Thanks for looking!

Well I suppose it's time for a little update with the car and plans. I had to take a look back and remind myself where I left off on here. The car is still at the chassis guy, and Chris is doing an outstanding job so far. This cage is looking super tucked in the photos, and I just cannot wait to see the final product. The cage needs to be wrapped up and the chute mount and tubular upper core support need to be fabricated. The car will not be out this year, so I'm looking for more pretty big changes over winter including a major change in the rear drivetrain and suspension ;)

I'll just do my best and list out most of the changes:
-Possibly paint cage, fit dash and other interior components.
-Pull engine: Engine will be getting a mechanical fuel pump set up installed and some other odds and ends sealed up and reworked.
-Pull trans: Install the billet drums and hopefully install the Circle D converter (Will be selling my PI #6 converter)
-Pull front subframe to install NDD manual steering rack and Volk Metal Craft solid front K member bushings
-Pull current fuel system out in favor of a bay mounted fuel cell (2.5 gal) Will be hanging onto the Vamos fuel cell for future use.
-Pull the entire drivetrain and rear subframe in favor of the Volk Metal Craft tubular subframe, R'venge built 3.307 3000gt/stealth rear diff, DSS stage 5 axles, and everything that goes along with the conversion.
-Will be seriously considering a changeover form ECMLink to Fueltech
-Will be looking into smaller drag racing-oriented brake set up.

So yes, I came across a good deal on a Volk rear subframe that is make to fit s 3000gt/stealth rear diff! The package came with the rear subframe and components, knuckles, a Boostin Performance rebuilt/service 5 speed 3/s rear diff, Drive shaft shop level 5 rear axles/hubs, and a drviesahft shop 3.5" Al driveshaft with a custom tail shaft portion to fit the rear diff!

Unfortunately the rear diff itself is the wrong ratio for the auto, but that's okay as I was lucky enough to source a core and have it built right from R'venge Performance. If you haven't heard of them, they are doing a ton of great work for the 3/s platform, and Chris over there got me hooked up with a 6 speed 3.307 core and build. Really looking forward to being able to finally rock some of his stuff. I ended up selling the 5 speed rear diff to fund the new diff build, so it all worked out.

I also sold the Al driveshaft that came with this package. I was really only after the custom rear tail shaft portion. The OEM unit needs to be shortened a bit to fit this 3/s rear diff when using a Volk rear subframe. So, I will be hanging onto the custom part, and installing it on my current Al driveshaft.

Times like this I sure wish I had a lift, LOL I will get some photos of everything during installation I'm sure, but here's some cage update photos and also some photos of the rear subframe/diff/axle score!

Although it will be an 8.50 cage, We did agree to having a few extra bars added in case it's decided to build the cage into a quicker cert. The added items will make the process easier from what I understand if we go that route. I'm super pumped with how it's turning out so far, cannot wait to get eyes on the final product! Go check him out on FB at Red Rocket Racing

And here's the rear subframe/diff/axles as I picked it up. Was a little bit of a trip, about 16 hours total in the car to pick this up, but totally worth it! Can't wait to get this all sorted with the new diff and installed in the car!

That's all for now, looking forward to getting the car back and having the winter to go through all the planned changes! Come catch us at the Shootout also, we will have a little bit of a garage sale going on!

Thanks for looking!

Cheers,

Hey All,

Figured I'd drop a little update. I picked up a NDD front subframe that came with a de-powered OEM rack from Eaton MotorWorks and FIBA's V2 front bump steer kit. I had planned on pulling the OEM front subframe and installing the VMC solid K member bushings. I figured this popped up, and I would jump on it. Looking forward to taking more weight out of the car. I also picked up a carbon fiber CSL hatch and FAL poly rear hatch glass at the shootout, so there's more weight off the car. The hatch is in pretty rough shape, and has cracking going on at the top, We're going to try our best to flatten those spots and then either wrap it or possibly paint it. It's more of a budget CF hatch set up I guess you could say ha. I also picked up a set of BC racing coilovers, so there's a chance I wont have anymore really wild weight transfer photos LOL. We'll see though!

Out with the old:
459015555_855546866679672_2742971669559508069_n.jpg

And the new (to me) front subframe that will be taking its place:
459466144_1555480591710115_4185535962969933592_n.jpg

I tried my best to get a total weight loss between the OEM front subframe, lower control arms, and compression arms (without the power steering bracket, pump, and lines) and came to about 120lbs loss between OEM and the new tubular front subframe set up, NOT FRIGGEN BAD!

Here's a quick photo of both front and rear subframes that will be making their way into the car, hopefully the 3s rear diff shows up soon from R'venge Performance:
458193797_881105583478111_7202053892538994170_n.jpg

And the new (to me) coilovers that will be making their way into the car:
459447399_1038360881322051_674475103061076926_n.jpg

I also placed an order through Warren ( @antilag_200 ) at Anti lag racing and will be getting a front and rear brake set up from him! There's more weight off the car and some nice looking brakes, can't wait to get my hands on these!

I will also be re-doing probably about 95% of the harness wiring. My hopes is that the vast majority of the wiring in the car (interior and engine bay) is all new. I will hopefully soon be to the stage of planning out my engine wiring harness. I may split this into two major components of wiring. The main component will be all the needed sensors (ex IAT, Coolant temp, TPS, etc) and the second harness will be more dedicated to the FuelTech input expander if I end up getting one. The input expander will most likely handle input such as transmission drum pressures, turbo shaft speed, and other inputs that are more "wants" instead of "Needs".

That's all for now, thanks for looking!

Any updates?
Was wondering that too - what's going on Christian? Hoping you'll also chime in here too:

And just wanted to also say, I'm really sorry to hear about your dad. I'm sure that's been weighing heavily on you. We're all here for you man.

Hey Guys,

Sorry I haven't been on top of the updates. There's a lot that has been going on on my end. I appreciate the kind words @Ludachris , things have been much different.

I'm going to kinda skip over a lot and just jump right into the track time at the 2025 Shootout. I will come back to parts updates that happened before the 2025 shootout in later posts (like them beautiful Kiggly planetary gear set).

The car survived the dyno, so it was time to get the thing ready for some passes. My only real goal was to get the car to Norwalk this year and get an 8 second slip. We did just that. I had a lot of help with my friends, without them this wasn't going to be happening. So thank you Scott, Paul and everyone else.

Car's first hit off the trailer after a couple years and really no testing went 9.0 at 155. Second hit was our 8.8 sec pass at 159 mph. We pulled the plugs after that run to see what timing looked like (it wanted more!). We added boost, timing, and tried for a better 60'. I feel like the car would have had a 8.50 in it.

First pass 9.0:

Second and last pass of The Shootout, 8.8 at 159 mph:

Also, here's a little LTA Recap video that Scott put together:

I believe we hurt something while getting more aggressive with the 2 step after our 8.8 pass. We really need to get this car to 60' better. It happens. We yanked the head over night, and I was expecting to see damage, but there wasn't much. Leak down test before we pulled the head told us exhaust valves were not happy on cylinder 3 I believe it was. Poured some water in the chamber when the head was pulled and it was leaking pretty bad out of those exhaust valves. We called it a weekend.

I've already got the head fixed up and ready to get things back together. I will be making some changes to try and keep valves happy. Unfortunately, I'm not 100% sure what caused the damage. One theory we think is the distribution of nitrous using the single nozzle. I will be changing to a direct port dry nitrous system to make sure distribution is consistent between all cylinders. I've also made a change to Kiggly's race only valve springs, as we are targeting higher boost levels on M1 for next year. I'd really like to get back into the 1/8 mile local no prep stuff again for 2026.

It was a great time at the Shootout as always. Thanks to everyone that said hi and helped out, it's much appreciated. With how the rules are looking for 2026, we may either have to make a turbo change, or donate to the Q32 pot LOL. Either way, looking forward to next year's Shootout!

Great update - quick summary, photos, videos. Next year will be even better!

Man I wish I could have made it out to Ohio this year, looked like a great time as usual.

With any luck we can line up in Q32 together :)

It was a blast as always. Hope you're recovering well from your surgery and can get back out there this upcoming season. It would be an absolute pleasure to line up with you at the Shootout!

Been quiet in this thread for 2026, Christian. No updates since last year. Looks like we lost another one to Zuck. 😔

I see you got one of these fancy graphics though, so congrats:

I am here, I promise. I will get a proper 2026 Shootout Post at some point!

Hey All!

As pointed out, there hasn’t been many updates over 2026 season. I got to say though, I haven’t really done too much to the car since the 2025 shootout. Tyler at Force fixed up the cylinder head’s valves, installed some fresh Kiggly race springs, and that seemed to have fixed up the issues we created at the 2025 Shootout. LOL

In this post I’ll focus on the changes and will have a follow up post about the 2026 Shootout.

The major changes from 2025 included the switch to M1, Direct port nitrous, and getting weight out of the car

I started with the change to direct port nitrous system. Although I was never able to prove the single nozzle caused or aided in the valve damage, I figured an even distribution of nitrous among cylinders would probably just be the best approach. So, I learned what was needed to bend and flare SS tube, and well here’s the result.

lp6gxj-a.jpg
oT3nAPEv.jpg

I was happy with how it turned out. I learned to make sure you lube SS tube a bit before flaring, and make sure you have a tool that is able to flare SS. At times I found it kind of tricky to get everything sealed up with no leaks but eventually got there. Currently I believe I have .026 jets in each nozzle, so about 100 shot worth of nitrous when duty is set to 100%.

Once the intake was back on and the new nitrous lines sorted, it was time for the switch to methanol. It was a fairly straight forward conversion to M1. I had the car on pump 93 so I feel like I flushed the system 28 times to make sure it was ALL out (I only flushed it maybe 4 times- twice with E85 and then twice with M1). Once I felt good about getting the 93 out, I got some ECU adjustments from Kevin to get it fired up and driving on M1. Took it for a quick little street pull that was supposed to see about 10-15ish psi? That turned into a quick 48psi LOL but all was good. It was actually a good thing this happened. I looked back at the logs, and saw my IDC were wayyy higher than expected. Although fueling was super rich, I had a feeling the secondary rail’s 2200s weren’t going to be enough for the boost I wanted to be able to get to (I want to know I have fuel for 75-80psi). I decided to replace the secondary rail injectors with a second set of Alpha Injector 2600s- So now there’s TWO 2600cc injectors per hole. (And I still don’t think it’s enough for what I want!!!)

w1A8Y5C0.jpg
DMWV2SCB.jpg

Next up was a diet for the car- I’m next. I’ve had some Carbonetics carbon fiber doors, sunroof plug, and a forged carbon hatch that needed to go on. Unfortunately, I never weighed the car before installing these parts, but I did my best at trying to get weights and differences as I uninstalled the OEM parts and installed the carbon parts.

I started with the hatch. I had Paul install a FAL polycarbonate window on the sweet, forged carbon hatch and he did a GREAT job. I cringily (new word?) put the hole in the hatch for the puke tank vent stack and finished it off with the trim ring I had on the OEM hatch. I did not enjoy doing this, but it turned out pretty good. Lastly, I applied my DSM TUNERS and LTA decals to finish it off!

OEM Hatch w/ 2gb high rise spoiler & OEM glass: ~68.8lbs

CF Hatch w/ FAL window: ~24lbs

Difference of ~44.8lbs

Next was taking out the OEM sunroof assembly and installing the Carbonetics CF sunroof plug.

OEM sunroof assembly: ~29lbs

CF sunroof plug: ~5.9lbs

Difference of ~23.1lbs

NccQ8y0g.jpg
DQnpRCjM.jpg

Lastly, the CF doors. This was my first time taking doors off, these are some heavy mfs! I took weight measurements of the OEM doors without the doors card and without the OEM glass, so I tried the same with the CF doors. I cannot remember if I took weights of OEM doors with or without the tracks and window motors though… I also added some Angry Aero side mirror delete covers for those drag racin' days!

OEM Doors w/o glass: ~70.6lbs

CF Doors w/o glass or tracks: ~12lbs

Difference of ~58.6 X 2 = 117.2lbs!

SO, a total weight difference of about 185.1 lbs, NOT too shabby!

The carbon fiber parts were essentially my Shootout “scramble” this year. Since the car no longer fit Street eliminator class, I decided instead of purchasing a smaller turbo and slowing things down, I’m getting the car into the Quick 32 class. So, I got the car into Q32 trim and took out a good amount from the interior. Passenger seat, rear seats, most of the interior plastic trim, BUT I had to keep the dash, center console, and some carpeting… I just like how it all looks TOO much to take out. Anyway, I had asked the Shootout page if they would be able to have scales open for a day, I’ve always wanted to weigh the car and they never have scales open. They agreed and had them open Friday. Total weight of the car WITH my big back in it came out to 2,770 lbs just after a hit, so about 2,525 lbs I’d say without me in it. Pretty happy with that, and I do think I can find a bit more weight in the car to cut. It wouldn’t hurt for me to drop 45 lbs either LOL.

Anyway, my apologies for lack of posts and updates. I will get a 2026 Shootout post up, and also my brief no prep outing I had a couple weeks after the Shootout.

Here's a little tire wrinkle teaser for the next post:

As always, Thanks for looking!
That's what I'm talkin' about. Nice update!

2026 Shootout Post!

Had a blast as always and was great to see everyone!

Following some class rules changes that went into place at this year’s shootout, I was forced to make a choice. The past couple of years I’ve been running in Street Eliminator class. A turbo limit went into effect this year, and the organizers put a turbo size limit of 64.9mm I believe. So, I was either going to have to downsize on turbo to fit in SE or just get in where I fit in and continue to go faster with the car. I decided to do the latter, and so I ended up entering Quick 32. I got to say, it was intimidating to enter this class. This is a class I have been dreaming of being able to enter since 2005ish. Although I knew this car just isn’t on the level of a lot of these other guys, it was a perfect way to get the car out with friends and see what we can do.

So, it was time to get the car in race trim since there’s no requirements of interior panels and what not. I took as much out of the car as I could, but HAD to leave the dash, center console, and carpet… I just love the way those interior pieces look in the car I couldn’t bring myself to tearing it all out ha.

The weekend didn’t start smoothly, though. First qualifying run, the plan was to let it eat to the 1/8 and see how things looked. I didn’t make it very far after the hit before pulling off to the side out of caution. The car felt completely different than anything I’d experienced before. It had lost a ton of power, the RPMs were still climbing, and it wouldn’t make the 1-2 shift. I figured something was cooked and didn’t want to risk oiling down the track.

After getting back to the pits, we checked the log and saw #1 EGT had gone cold. We suspected a plug, plug wire, or possibly compression, but thankfully compression checked out and the plug looked good. Then, while diagnosing the issue, the car decided to stop running altogether. So naturally, things were getting better.

After digging deeper, we narrowed it down to two failing coils. Not exactly what I expected to find, but apparently the car wanted to make sure we earned the weekend. A quick trip to the FuelTech truck for a couple new coils, swapped them in, and the car fired right up. Back to normal!

We didn’t make Q2 Friday night, so we decided to take the car out for an early test-and-tune lick Saturday morning. First full pass since this time last year, and it was nothing short of amazing. We knocked out PBs in almost every category, with trap speed being the only one that didn’t move from last year.

I FINALLY got the 1.3x 60’ I’ve been chasing forever — a 1.32 to be exact. New PB in the 1/8th by a good margin, and a new 1/4-mile PB of 8.54 @ 158 MPH. I was absolutely pumped to finally see that 1.3x 60’.

Now we actually had some data to work with, and looking at the logs, there was still a LOT left on the table. We made some adjustments and got ready to take another shot in Q3.

Got the car fired up and ready to go. I wasn’t sure what to expect, but more data is always better.

The car was actually lazy out of the hole this time, putting down a 1.43 60’… but it made up for it on the back half.

8.37 @ 167 MPH!!!

New PB in the 1/8-mile MPH, 1/4-mile ET AND trap speed. The car picked up a TON of MPH - This thing wants to EAT. There's PLENTY more left in this thing which is exciting and mind blowing to me.

Sunday morning came, and I decided to call it. The car exceeded every expectation I had, it’s in one piece, and we put down a damn solid qualifying number for Quick Class. With the weather looking questionable, I made the call to pack it up and get home to my family at a decent hour.

Here’s some photos and video from over that weekend. Next outing with a full track and prep, I’m hoping to pair the 1.3x 60’ with our second run data plus a little more boost, and see where that puts us 😉

And of course, already looking forward to next year's Shootout! We'll be looking to improve on times throughout the entire slip. If I get some of my planned upgrades done over the winter, I will really have my sights set on getting the 60' into the 1.2xs, would love to see some 5.1x-5.0x 1/8 mile, among other quicker times ;)

As always, thanks for looking!

Well, I’m on a roll now with the updates!

There was a local no-prep race coming up about a week or so after the Shootout. If the car did well at Norwalk, my plan was to get it turned around, bolt-checked, and ready to go for this event. The car came out of Norwalk in good shape, so that’s exactly what we did!

The event was called Half Track Havoc at Lapeer International Dragway. The race was 1/8 mile, starting from half track and running to the normal big end, with water burnouts only.

This was also my first time really having a sponsor for an event. I have to give a huge thanks to Ed at E&B Trailer Rentals. He hooked up my family and got them into the event at no charge. Really appreciate that!

Honestly, though, the thing I was most pumped about was having my entire family at the track for the first time. My 3.5-year-old son, Dominic, has been PISSED at me because I haven’t taken him to the track yet LOL. So this time everybody came out — Scott, Paul, my wife and kids, my brother, nephew, mom, and the in-laws. My father-in-law is also a big-time car guy, so he was itching to help load the car up and head to the track.

We entered the car in the Small Tire class, and boy, do we have a lot of learning to do.

As far as the tune-up, we loaded in a better 60’ tune since our last time out resulted in that lousy 1.43 60’. We didn’t change anything in the boost map, so I was expecting somewhere around 60 psi. I also believe I have an 8% duty increase on the scramble button if needed — which I’m absolutely dying to use LOL.

Unfortunately, we went out first round.

The car launched pretty clean and hard. Dragy had us at a 1.35 60’, but almost immediately after the 1-2 shift, I blew all four tires off and had to get out of it. It was quite a ride. This car is a handful, and we definitely need to learn how to apply this kind of power to these surfaces.

After watching some footage, one of the first things that stood out was the tire marks the car left behind. I could clearly see marks from both rear tires and the right front, but nothing from the left front. Because of that, one of the upcoming changes will be a RIP GRIP front diff locker.

Another thing I’m going to have to get used to at these types of events is doing a burnout. I’ve basically never done one with this car, even at events like this, but I’m starting to think it’s going to be necessary to help get the car down these surfaces.

A couple days later, I finally looked through the log and saw that the car actually made 65 psi, so we had a little more boost in it than I expected.

Since then, I’ve moved away from running a single boost map and switched over to boost-by-gear. The plan is to pull some boost around the 1-2 shift and then ramp it back in as RPM increases. I think we have some solid starting points now to hopefully get the car down these tracks consistently.

I’m not sure how competitive we’ll be because some of these guys are absolutely FLYING on these surfaces, but I’m going to give it my best shot!

Either way, the event was still an amazing time. Since I sucked and went out first round, I got put on BBQ cook duty LOL. I cooked for the family, hung out with everyone, and we got to watch some great racing.

At the end of the day, getting to have my whole family at the track and share with them something I love doing made the weekend worth it regardless of what happened on the track.

Already acquired the front diff locker, just not sure when I'm going to get to installing yet though. There's another no prep event at a local track October 17th I may try to make. If we make it on the 17th, it will likely be the last event for 2026. I'll try and do better at keeping track of the winter progress! So far we have some transmission upgrades planned, tcase plans, and some other stuff!

And as always, thanks for looking!
