will a 1g gm maf translator work in a 2g

i just bought a gm maf with a 1g translator but i have a 2g. Would this work if i hardwired it in or do i need a 2g translator?

I think you can hardwire it, I don't think it would be any different then if you used a 2g Maf in a 1g just get the wires correct

I just dont want to have everything wired up and have it be all messed up. im gonna have to cut my upper intercooler pipe and just want to make sure it gona work before i do.

That should help you to identify each wire on the translator.

It will work as stated just look up the wiring diagram I only looked for a couple of minutes, but as long as you have the pig tail you will be fine.
