Is there a reason you're buying someone's 2g DSMlink instead of a 1g version?

I don't think you'd need anything else though. To make sure, I'd send Thomas at ECM Tuning an e-mail before purchasing though. The e-mail address is [email protected].

Well Im strapped for cash and Im able to make payments on a brand new dsm link but its for a 2g..but if i have to spend more money to get it to work im not gonna do it.

one thing I know about the dsmlink for the 1G is that if u loose power your settings won't get lost, with the 2G ecu you loose all your settings. What a pain in the ars that is when you disconnect the batt

I email that guy...So the only things are actual setting in the program thats it?

OK everyone the answer in NO....I quote Tom "You can not run a 2G chip in a 1G ECU (DSMLink or not). They simply are not compatible at all."

So there's the answer.

Thank you everyone....

Actually, you can run a 2g DSMLink ECU in a 1g. The 2g DSMLink setup I purchased (used) was actually being used in a 1g. I guess the person wanted DSMLink before it came out for the 1g, so they modified the 2g version to work with a 1g. Don't ask me how they did it, but it is possible.
