You recommend a certain piston to wall clearance?Nobody here can tell you the exact number. You have to take the pistons to machine shop and tell them how much piston to wall clearance you want. Then they will measure the pistons and calculate how much they will need to cut the cylinders.
It depends on many factors. With or without a turbo, nitrous, for streets or racing? etc etc. If you are not so sure, the easiest way would be by following the manufacturer's recommendation. Wiseco normally recommend a bit tight side. Also you should ask the machinist or mechanic who work on your car.You recommend a certain piston to wall clearance?
Well most of the time I work on my own stuff, but this is my first performance build, turbo about 15psi, for streets/car meets/ dailying ect.It depends on many factors. I'm on stock bore yes and it is that exact part number. If it's that exact part number it's 88mm. Is your bock still standard bore? This question requires the input of the machine shop. If your bores are not ok they you need to bore them. Boring is NOT the same as honing. If you need an overbore of .020 or .030 etc those pistons will not work. You would need to purchase a piston sized correctly. You're should take the block to the shop first then buy pistons. If you haven't do not buy pistons yet.
Again a machine shop will have to check the bores for roundness and taper. If it requires an overbore those pistons won't work. You'll need an overbore piston.I'm on stock bore yes and it is that exact part number.
Is this standard 6bolt, 7bolt or stroking the motor?I'm just wondering what rod length i will need to run with the wiesco 8.8.1 pistons i got, stock height eagles? Or ? I think there 5.407 if I remember correctly, it that right rods for those pistons?
It’s a 420A, and we can’t answer that question without knowing what piston spec the OP has. If they are standard compression height pistons, they take stock length (5.472”) rods.Is this standard 6bolt, 7bolt or stroking the motor?
I guess i didnt see 420a....It’s a 420A, and we can’t answer that question without knowing what piston spec the OP has. If they are standard compression height pistons, they take stock length (5.472”) rods.
I assume that your are talking about the Wiseco off the shelf kit (K580M). If so, you would need 139mm rods (5.472"). If you need, I can help you to order the Eagle rods.I'm just wondering what rod length i will need to run with the wiesco 8.8.1 pistons i got, stock height eagles? Or ?
