With 50 years experience serving the Pros, JE Pistons is the world's leader in high performance forged pistons for automotive, marine and motorcycle applications.

JE's winning record speaks for itself, with championships in NASCAR's Nextel Cup, Busch Grand Nationals, Supertruck, Indy 500, Baja 1000, NHRA (Top Fuel, Funny Car, Prostock), SCCA Trans-Am, 24 Hours of Daytona, LeMans, Hav-A-Tampa, WoO, APBA, Paris to Dakar and many others.

Wiseco has been making quality piston designs since the 1960's. Extending into the Automotive Market after several succesful years in off road sports, they quickly became known as one of the very best Sport Compact Piston Manufactures in the world!

When I build my engine I am going eagle rods and wiseco pistons. They are very equal in quality and both perform very well. They will outlast the car if unabused.

Definitely Wiseco on Eagle h-beams...that's what I have and I think Rand has them too, but I could be wrong. It's definitely an unbeatable combo...got mine from CI. I got std bore pistons. Good luck w/ your decision. JE makes good stuff, but this is the way alot of guys go, but just as many guys go JE too, so it's preference and quality. Let us know what you decide to do.

Nap, I think you just plagerized!! Nah, I'm J/K. Seriously tho, you found that info somewhere else and pasted it. ROFL

Now, I use Wiseco pistons in my mx bike and it works wonders. Unfortnately I cannot vouch for the automotive department. I WAS going to use Wiseco because they actually sponsor me, and my ametuer support supe said she could hook me up with some pistons for my car. BUT, I ended up using JE because they had the fastest 4 cylinder car at the time of rebuild. I'm not sure of the differences, I've heard great thing from both, but when push comes to shove, I'd stick with JE, more cars use them (top drags), and I've seen them hold 700HP on my buddy's F-body.

I also went with the Wiseco on Eagle h-beams set-up, with 9:1 comp.

I dont really see many street cars running JE pistons.

Im using je 8:8:1 pistons and eagle rods. Works great for me running 16psi daily and 20psi at the track.

I've also been using 8.8:1 JE's with Eagle H-beam's for over a year now. No problems, and they have taken quiet a bit of abuse, especially with my car being untuned with just SFMU and me constatnly playing with things. Anyhow, I've never heard anything bad about JE's although I have seen people melt them (although it was their fault). On the other hand I've heard a few bad comments about wisecos, but never seen them melted. Sounds like the difference is minute, so go where your heart and wallet takes you. Thumbs up from me for the JE's tho.

I agree with Blitz on this: although I don't have much to substantiate this; JE pistons can withstand higher horsepower than their Wiseco counterparts.

I have heard from at least one person, however, that JE pistons aren't very good in "daily driver" applications because of the higher clearances they are machined with - this, of course, ultimately leads to some sort of piston or rod knock. Supposedly the fit is much better with Wiseco or Ross pistons. I have only heard this claim from one person, though, and I wouldn't worry about it. I still think JE is the way to go (that's the way I'm going...).

I'd say stick with the ones in the kit, but thats just my $.02...I have heard either way, but if they make them w/ the kit, then they are probably good quality, but I am not the expert either...:D

I've heard lots of stories with the total seal rings...best do some research :thumb:

Stick with the rings that come with the pistons. There's nothing wrong with Total Seals that I know of, but they do require some other modifications in order to run without damaging things. It has something to do with their ability to generate pressure in the head. I think you have to lose the PCV and install a catch can or something. I dunno. Do a search on 2GNT and you'll see.

Also, just because it made me twitch a bit, it's spelled wondering.

Guys, becareful with using the Name Total Seals. Total seal rings are a brand. Total seals makes conventional and Gapless rings. When you say you have performance total seals, are you referring the the gapless design or conventional?

I have the total seal conventional rings for my venolia Pistons in the 2.4l
