Why was it wrong to ask what my rods and pistons could handle?

Okay, I can look on this board any day of the week and find a thread discussing the limits of the stock short block (or more particular 1g rods with 2g pistons),or what "X" manifold might do and theres even a whole section dedicated to talking about what certain turbos can or can not do.

So, what was wrong with asking what a piston/rod combo should be able to hold?. I make a thread asking if anyone's pushed my particular combo (which is a rather common one) to it's limits and what they might be and what might be a weak point. And today, as if it was just to remind me that i'm being "watched" i find my thread gone, but a quick search rendered a few others like it but not about the same combo and they are still open topics.

Now this thread will probably be called "questioning the admins" or what ever else, but If i would have gotten an explanation instead of waking up to find my thread gone i wouldn't have to make this one questioning anything.

I"m almost starting to feel like there's an admin who wakes up every morning, searches for new threads by a few particular users and then if he doesnt' like them they go bye bye..

It's just like when i mention that i might have had some drinks in a post, i get a personal scolding in a PM and my post deleted. Then yesterday i read a whole thread where almost one entire page was dedicated to talking about how two people were drinking while posting and got their info backwards. If it weren't for feeling singled out on too many occasions like this i probably wouldn't care, but this is getting rediculous.

I read your thread and you had mentioned that you didn't want any bench racing or 1/4 times. You were just curious what people thought the longblock was capable of or has done since it is a common combo. You didnt ask what you would be making power wise, just what the longblock could handle. I dont think you even mentioned anything about what turbo or anything else. I wouldn't understand why they deleted it, but i'm definitely not a moderator so its not in my hands!

^^ Thanks, and you're right i intentionally left out anything i could that could turn it into a "bench racing" thread and still got the short end of the stick. I thought it would be a good source of future archived information.

It's because they're nazi's Glenn... they deleted the whole ds-map thread because TDorris was being a whiner and didn't want to see his $$ flying out the window to a free solution that accomplishes the same (if not better) end goal.

I wouldn't question it too much, they'll just ban you like some crooked cops and just make up some bs on the fly as to why you needed to get banned.

bling5tatus... That's why i'm just asking nicely in this thread since i wasn't told anything through PM as to what i did that made it a "dead end thread". Honestly, for the life of me i can't figure out what was wrong with it other than maybe it was a boring post to who ever moved it to dead end section.

I try to help as much as i can on here and have made several "notes" as to how i've been told to behave here (and I abide by them), i never troll or flame (well, flame for no reason anyway LOL ) And all i try and do is get some 1st hand feedback from some one who's pushed a similarly built long block to it's limit or have safely made X amount reliably and it's not worth having on the forum. Maybe i should have asked how to run 9's on a 14b with stock interior and four 12's in the trunk.

It gets very discouraging though when you go out of your way to try and avoid the things that you aren't supposed to do and still have this happen. I was wondering where that DSMap thread went because i'm looking into learning to map OEM ECU's through one of these programs (preferebly one that allows for speed density)

wow! i just noticed they deleted it after you posted, thats bs:notgood: i often wonder what $500 times how many dsmers have the dsmlink=$$$$$

Yep, Ludacris pm'd Hakcenter and said that he would restore the thread if we never mentioned ds-map (without being asked about it first) again. Apparently money talks. If you're not lining the pockets of the owner of this site then you're just second rate... and other vendors can have their way with you.

Go read the MHIScan thread... TDorris is even trying to lure Ceddy into their clan because of his hard work. Shit is nuts for real.... but whoaa!!! don't say anything or your an asshole, there will be no going against the grain or free thinking here (sound familiar). Because of this, the forum here will always be plagued by people that answer every noob problem with "just slap some 1000cc's and link in there and be done with it." .... or "just swap to a 6 bolt." ... or "why do you need that turbo you can make 500 on a e316g."

I strongly encourage you to check out ds-map.net. I don't want to sway this thread away from what it is supposed to be... but I AM trying to shed light on what kind of people are running this forum. It's all money motivated, not about furthering peoples' knowledge and doing things yourself. Your thread got deleted because someone in power has a personal fit with you.

Of course I'll probably get in trouble or be banned for speaking the truth. Just watch this post get edited when it happens too.

They have a facility of solder monkeys to pay for, it's not a "mom and pop" operation anymore... they are probably not struggling for money, but they're not making as much as you'd like to think. It still is ridiculous though, their following is just like a cult.

Wow, thats crazy! I burn my own chips, but use a speed density bin and xdf created by Nick in the yahoo forums. Im a member on there as well as ds-map. I didnt see dsmlink in the budget when i could accomplish the same/more for much less. I do get mad when people say "just get link" like you said because there are many other less costly options that get the job done if you're willing to teach yourself a few things.
I really don't see a reason to delete Glenn's post as i was curious what others who had used his same longblock parts would say it was holding up to.
Here's a thread started about a minute ago: are they going to delete it?

You know another f'd up thing is... I don't know Glenn and I haven't really talked w/ him... but I've read a lot of posts where he was spilling a lot of knowledge and educating people. Not everyone has the patience to type out paragraphs to explain things to people that could easily be looked up on the internet (rtfm anyone?)... my point is: Glenn is a knowledgeable guy, and when you knowledge spills over that of someone's that has a "high rank" on their name badge, the ranking official can become embarrassed and begin playing unfairly to avoid humiliation.

IN BEFO DA LOCK!!!

In all seriousness, some things get deleted because a sponsor has an issue, or the mods think the will have an issue.
I have had more than one post deleted in the years before, just make it again!

oh and whats ds-map? (oh noes insta delete thread)

pm'd, I don't want to get off topic here too much, but in short... it's a free speed density setup for 1g eprom based cars... we have shit boxes (colts :p), we have vr4s and we have plenty of talons/eclipses.... and even a guy or two that's talking of using a 1g ecu on a 2g car to have speed density... seeing as how

DSMLink didn't deliver on their promise of SD support w/ the release of v3...

true that, Glenn is very knowledgable and has given great info on the forums.
