Who has the fastest HX40 DSM in a .55a/r bolt on housing?

Will be down there this year for sure, only this time I want a ride in that beast! I made 341 on a Mustang dyno and never got even close to that 10.99. Friday I ordered a PTE 5858 dbb, hopefully this season I can get some good times.
Sweet man and I'll give you a ride for sure! 341 not terrible I only put down 396 the day before running that 10.99.
I hear you on that one. I'll probably play with the bep housing for a few months and see what I can do. I was running 11.1-11.2 @ 119-120mph with the hx35/bep without nitrous, stock intake manifold and a dead motor with no compression. I sprayed it to get into the 10's LOL.

I'm hoping with the bolt on hx40, FRH intake manifold and bigger cams I can get it down into the high 10.60 to 10.70 range. We'll see though.

Here's how it's looking now:

Should be making some tuning passes in it in the next couple weeks.
Cars looking real good!! What converter are you running? And are you using o/d staying in 3rd? I'm excited to see your car back out on a healthy motor and see how far you can push the bolt on housing!

Tx2K13 should be really good this year. Hopefully 1320 videos can get more footage of your car Beans. I'm sure you're not going to have any issues competing with your setup:thumb:

This year it should be insane! I'm actually really good friends with Kyle from 1320 so hopefully he can get more footage this year. I just hope there is some more dig racing that gets setup this year!!

Thanks man. I'm using a stock converter that I had restalled at a converter shop locally. I've always felt like it slips too much on the top end though, so I might try throwing in one of my stock converters to see if it helps up top at all. I've always just ran out 3rd gear, I tried o/d a couple times but it didn't help my ET at all. Plus I don't want it to flare during the shift and kill the end clutches.

I would really recommend running the stock converter if you can get it to stall or spray it. I had to pick up at least 5mph if not more on the big end compared to my ipt restall. My car was a night and day difference when I switched and just so much nicer to drive. That's good you are just revving third out because I was going to say using o/d slowed me down so much but I had to on my bolton 40 setup because of stock valve springs.

I really recommend it to anyone especially if you have an auto! What other 9sec capable setups out there let you utilize the stock stall without nitrous?? The car I can think of is the Compounded 2g. The power band is amazing also because it spools so fast and my car doesnt stop pulling all the way up to 9000rpm. It is really worth the money to go twin scroll.

Wait what? You're on the stock, non-restalled converter and you can stall it up at the line? Seriously? This is great news if so. Are you on a 2.0L or a 2.3/2.4?

If you're on a 2.0l, you just decided my turbo. Long-rod 10:1 G4CS will be the motor setup, with a twin-scroll HX40, maybe even a billet batmowheel. I HATE....HATE restalled torque converters on a street car. The "snap" that you lose because of the slip on the low end makes the car feel like ass. So if a twin-scroll HX40 uses the stock converter with little/no issues...then that's my turbo of choice for sure.

Yes sir!!!:hellyeah: I just have a basic 9:1 eagle/wiseco setup 2.0, stock intake mani, and 264/272 delta regrinds. Putting a stock converter back in was the best thing I have ever done to my car!

This is great news. I have been stuck on what turbo to use for months now...I wanted to go HX40 twin scroll, as I've seen how ridiculously fast a twin scroll HX35 spools...but there was no one to outright confirm "yes, stock TC non-restalled, launches great with no nitrous".

Should be an extremely fun turbo setup for a G4CS eh. :D

For sure, I'll let you know how it works out. I ran one for almost a week before it blew up on me and I was seeing full boost by around 4300rpm.

Cool man, i would also think that with adjustable cam gears and low end tune you could dial it to spool faster and even stall within 5-8 seconds.

It's funny, I almost threw a stock converter in there when I installed my trans last week, but I went with the restall. I have no issue with spraying the bi*** on the line. Maybe I'll keep the restall in there for now, make a couple passes with it, and then swap in a stocker. That way, based on what I pick up on the big end, I can gauge how much the restall was slipping.

You're probably right, I forgot to mention the motor this turbo was on had compression of 120psi on it's best cylinder and it would still stall up without nitrous in about 10ish seconds. I like to use nitrous to get on the stall, it doesn't take as long so it's easier to stage the car and the trans temp doesn't climb as much while sitting there waiting to build boost.

I just finished rebuilding my HX40 last night and it's in a .55 BEP housing. I'm working on the head gasket now.. installing a mls with L19's and then I'm going to beat the piss out of it. I'll be happy with mid *maybe high 130's with it. My car is a full weight street driven car.

I trapped 127mph last Sept. with my 8 blade HX35 in a .55 BEP turbine when my car was a 5 speed. This was also on a 2.5" exhaust, planning on going full 3" and/or a cut out with the HX40.
If you don't mind me asking how big of a cam are you running and roughly when does it spool? Ps is it a 2.0 or a stroker?

Interesting thread. I will be giving the record a shot come spring time.
2.0 Long rod motor and a Super 40 (hx 40) in the BEP housing.

same build ill be doing what Compression did you go with?

Why all the money in the engine with the small bolt on housing? You're giving up about 10mph of possible et with the bolt on housing.
Money related. next winter I'm going back to the t3/t4 and having a custom Manifold built and down pipe.
The cars extremely light also.

10.5:1 Wiseco hd2 22mm wrist pin. How about you?

Basically the same 10.5 Wiseco R&R aluminum rods. Not sure what rod pin size. It's a 6 bolt I'm just going to have Boostin performance build it for me

What's the pros for 22mm? I know that's what 2g and evo use. Is it noticeably stronger?

Theres an entire other thread out there about that. As for the motor Call R&D performance in carol stream. They have a direct connection with R&R rods and do great work with dsm and evo. There not far from boostin and there prices are way better.
