97tsiAWD you trapped 115mph on a small 16G and pump gas?

Yeah I'd love to know your setup and any tips you may have on them. That' an incredible time for pump gas no less in a small 16G.

I just relized that I had some massive boost leaks. After fixing them I was able to stay with from a roll with my buddy who traps 110mph on he's 18G. I'm really pissed since the track is closed now and who knows what I could have ran. Of course I was running race gas.

Is it stronger then with the green? Sorry to go so much off topic but I'm just really amazed as to what you've achieved.

on pump gas, street tires, and a small 16g. very impressive time. man a little race gas, drag radials........ easy 11's. so what exactly is your setup?

115mph is pretty impressive for a small 16g with pump gas. I've seen as fast as 114 on a big 16g with race gas personally, but that mph on pump gas has to be some kind of record. I'm sure my car would have gone over 120 on pump gas but that's with spray. Very impressive.

Regards,

Just click in he's car to get pictures and he's mods. He registred 9/21 and these are he's mods as listed.

BR small 16g ported and clipped 10 degrees, Hallman MBC, ACT 2600# clutch, Unorthodox under drive pulley, Ported o2 housing and exhaust manifold, 2.5" BR downpipe, 2.5 " test pipe, Greddy 60mm cat back, EGR block off, Super AFC, BR fuel pump with rewire, Magnecor 10.5 mm plug wires, Custom IC piping, Greddy type-s bov.

He also seems to have a Front mount IC of some sort.

A buddy of mine has preaty much the same mods except a full 3" turbo back and small greedy FMIC. He ran 108mph traps on race gas though. I'd really like to know what your doing.

Yeah i bought the car from Mike. Great guy really knows what he was doing. His full throttle a/f guage is cool not exactly what is does yet but maybe that has added bonuses that many don't. But the car is in prime condition and great, i hope to go 11's with new tires the p7000 sucked. 1g tb and ported intake, and maybe 3" cat back. Not that i need the 3" but i might need. Also the new avs es100 should be great i don't know but the car is really tuned great.

Well then you should probably edit your posts to reflect this.

YOU did not run those times. Mike did. Mike could drive the balls out of that car. Also, those runs were made on race gas if I'm not mistaken. Mike is a good old school DSM'er, that did the mods needed to run good times and nothing more. Pretty basic setup compared with most now a days, but the thing is, Mike did what he had to, to run those times. Many now a days with twice as many mods, will struggle to even hit those trap speeds. Those were in the days where there were no UBB's, and people could run 11's with a 20g (20g's are considered way too small today though, and people can barely go 12's with new super dooper mutts).

Not trying to bust your balls or anything, but those times were also from two years ago. You should join up to CDSM as well, it'd be nice to track the progress of the car. Mike's car was/is still one of my favorite 2g's.

Good luck with it, and hope you can reproduce those times.

I have reproduced those times and i can drive the balls off anything, i have a turbo trans am that i run at 11.5. Also i will be at the dsm shootouts this year to prove it and pull an 11 with my small 16g, once i get the new hks cams.

Now he wants to get a RSX personally i would not get rid of the talon. I thank him for selling it. We bought his old rims the stock eagle ones and told him to sell us the car when he decided too. Fate has it he did how awsome. His tire choice sucked but that was so he didn't waste his transfer case.

Hmm, so you went as fast with less mods, than when Mike did those times?

Mike's car had cams when he did those times, Web Street if I remember correctly, and he has since removed them and a few other things.

Right he had a dis-2 ingnition and web street grind i currently have the hks 264/264 and i am updating them to 272/272 this may. They are better higher rpm then the webs so mike might not have gotten the setup completly right with the webs but not bashing him he is a smart guy. Also i ran with 22lbs of boost instead what i believe he ran with 19lbs only.

You mean center diff? So did you really run 115mph traps with 93 octane?

Yeah at norwalk on a nice cool day. Believe me it wasn't easy i thought i was going to break the car launching. The tires are so hard that the cars jumps hard.

I know what the transfer case is, A/Ts have the same AWD design when it comes to transfer cases and center diffs. But I thought first thing to go on hard launches is the center diff becuase of it's a crappy two gear design. I pulled lots 1.70 -1.72 60fts and never had a problem and my buddy used to pull 1.6s all the time on he's mid 11second talon. He broke a few center diffs but transfer case is intact after hundreds of launches and four years of abuse. When you look at the transfer case it actually looks preaty tough compared to anything else in the tranny. BUt even the stock diff take a lot if it's launched properly with out clutch drops.

First awd i used to have a fwd, i am scared now. Hopefully as long as the tires spin a little on the launch i won't break anything. Would i have to go with aftermarket axles or what? I believe with the new tires the car can do a better then 1.75 launch like it has with the hard tires.

Nope axles should be fine. As long as you spin somwhat and don't dump the clutch it should be ok. They also need the full timeslip in order to post it. I would post my full timeslip but I'm out of town at the momment and I will ones I get back home.
