Well I spent last night and this morning changing my front hub bearings in hope of fixing this unique problem. There is a very annoying whining sound that gets louder as wheel speed increases. It sounds like metal on metal. I have had this problem for a while now but the car has sat since it got really loud. In this time I have rebuilt the motor, changed transmissions, changed all u-joints, new clutch and tb, resurfaced the flywheel to specs. And it still made that noise. Now I just finished the hub bearings and its STILL making the same noise!!!WTF
The car drives and shifts just perfect. ITs just this damn noise thats killin me! I am all out of ideas and really need help bad. I dont trust taking my car to any shops and I am very capable of doing the work myself. I am thinking maybe a bad transfer case(I have 2 spares if need be). To be honest, I dont know what to think anymore, I am just so tired of chasing this problem! I tried the search and found one thread like my problem but no fix. Please help me!!! I want to drive again! "I wanna go fast!"

!! I looked at the drain plug and it has a huge chunk of metal on it and alot of little ones. I jacked the rear up and looked in the drain hole it was plug by a big piece of metal. Moved it and it started to drain. The fluid was grayish. Anyone selling a 4 bolt rear diff?????
