ok i am going to get a new clutch for my car. i was wandering which one i should go with. i was thinking of the act 2100. Dont think i want the 2600 because it is a daily driven car and will only go to the track a couple times a year. if there are some other brands you all would suggest let me know. i want a good streetable clutch for a cheap budget.

I personally would go with the ACT 2600, it can take the heat better than the others can so you wont have any slipping, it is made more for that type of rugged use over an extended period of time, you might want to check out RRE they road race alot so they can give you some better insight about your clutch selection.

The 2600 should work well with your setup. They do make a 2900lb pressure plate you could upgrade to. Call Unorthodox Racing, they make a nice custom clutch and flywheel kit. Here is their # (631) 586-9525 or email them [email protected].

i emailed them and they said that its basically an on/off clutch unless you go for the carbon/carbon upgrade...plus the standard one runs about $2200..and the carbon/carbon goes for over $5500OMG

does anyone make a really good disk instead of having to use a really hard pressure plate?

I was thining about getting a clutch masters stage 2, but i am not sure. should i just go stage 1 or will stage 2 be better? im not into racing, and im not going to turbo my car. also will a cluth masters clutch kit come with a flywheel or my stock one should be just fine?

Go with an ACT 2100. From what I've researched and everyone in your position , that seems to be the clutch that is most recommended for your application. And if you do decide to go for more power , the clutch has ya covered. Where's my speed?

if im correct, i believe act doesnt make a clutch for the n/t's. i was thinking about going clutchmasters stage 2 or 3 (3 maybe too much), but would like suggestions. the price is quite hefty for that. i have a 97 gs w/ intake, exhaust and hrc stage 2 turbo kit on the way. i want a clutch that will do the job and i probably wont be going too far as far as upgrading after the turbo. i wanna run somewhere in like 13's. so i want a clutch to hold up. any suggestions?

Good luck trying to run 13's on a 420A motor, I gave up on mine and just got a 4g63 myself. But I do think that ACT makes one for that tranney. But you would have to find out for yourself, but I am pretty sure that I have seen it at some online shops. If not clutchmasters make a good clutch as well.

i cant remember where i heard this but i heard it from a reputable place like RRE, Magnus, or Buschur that theres a aftermarket clutch that has a higher clamping force but it actually doesnt put anymore pressure on the crank than the stock clutch. Which clutch is this? im thinkin centerforce something.

clutch masters promotes that their clutches have a higher clamping force and don't kill your crank...

if you call them up and let them know you have a 2g dsm, they will tell you the whole process and how their theory works.

Ok,

I am putting a 91 GST tranny in my 92 Talon NT 2.0. When i called to get my cluthc kit that had a different one for each one. I am just getting a stock kit from Advance Auto Parts since this is my daily driver. My question is which clutch kit do I get? I was planning on using my 2.0 NT flywheel since its in great shape and was about to take it to the machine shop to get it resurfaced. I just didnt know if there is a difference in the spline count on the input shaft that would require a specific clutch....

I did a search on this but couldnt locate anything on this....

Thanks in advace for the help!

its a centerforce i guess that your talking about. they have a Stage 1 kit, Stage 2 kit, and a Dual Friction kit (which i have). the Dual Friction kit really doesnt feel like stock, but the stage 1&2's might be what your thinking about.

Ok I am about to rebuild everything in my car and I know Im getting a quaffie(dont know how to spell) but my clutch is another thing. I have heard great things about centerforce dual friction, act2100 and the act 2600. But I also heard that act2600 helps along cw in 2gs and I also heard that centerfore was bad as well. I am looking for a good trans for cruising(cause once I pull a sub 12.5 sec pas I am done at the track), and will hold up after a few launches to reach my goal. Thanks for your opinions, and only personal experiences please.

i need a clutch, i was wondering which clutch would be best for Eagle Talon Tsi Awd(turbo)

and what else do i need when i replace the clutch?

Since your car is basically stock, I would suggest going with a ACT 2100 w/street disk. You shouldn't need anything else. It'll come with the clutch kit.

I'd still go with the 2100. If you think you need the power of a 2600, get a six puck disk with the 2100. The 2600 is just gonna make you motor more prone to crankwalk.

if treated correctly, the 2600 will withstand hard launches and track time?

by being treated correctly im talking about letting it cool down for 20+ minutes between runs and whatnot

The 2600 wont slip after multiple runs like the CF dual friction or ACT 2100. I would fully recommend an ACT 2600 for an AWD DSM. You wont be sorry (if you dont constantly dump the clutch, neither will your tranny). You should also concider replacing your shift fork, T/O bearing (dont use the ACT one, use an OEM), and slave and master cylinders.
