ok i am going to get a new clutch for my car. i was wandering which one i should go with. i was thinking of the act 2100. Dont think i want the 2600 because it is a daily driven car and will only go to the track a couple times a year. if there are some other brands you all would suggest let me know. i want a good streetable clutch for a cheap budget.

I use the ACT 2600 on my GSX. I don't have a single complaint about it either (yet, /me knocks on wood).

My plan's are low 12's, i was thinking about the ACT 2600 but i don't know how it will work with my car, i currently have an ACT 2100. But i will look into other companies and such.

ok before you say i dont really need a clutch for an all motor setup because i wont be making the power of a turbo, let me tell you that my car has 87k miles on it so i think a new clutch in the near future would be a smart mod. all i need to know is what clutch should i get? i was thinking of the ACT 2100 but im curious as to what you dsm people that know a lot about the drivetrain have to say about this. i will be doing pretty much all the mods listed in the all motor tuning guide and then some; such as a 50 shot of nitrous in the future. basically, all i need to know is what clutch should i get for an all motor setup? thanks for any help:dsm:

im debating betweeen a centerforce duel friction clutch or an act 2600 what are the pros and cons of each and what would u guys recomend

I have a clutchmasters stage 4 ceramic puck in my TSi... it is a VERY agressive clutch. I have other DSM guys who have ACT's in them, and every one of them love my clutch. This last year, I had two buddies swap out their ACT2600 for a Clutchmaster (stage3) because it was so good.

HOnestly, this topic has been beat to death all over the web... but I'd suggest the Clutchmasters far and above the ACT.

Better quality, about the same price.

Thats the first time Ive ever heard anything about a clutchmaster being better then an ACT.

I figured since the fastest DSMs use ACTs Id go with an ACT.

I have a 2600 streetdisk with a Fidanza and I have zero regrets.

It's all prefrence. ACT markets themselves as a DSM clutch, they are high profile in the DSM community. Why do some of the fastest DSM's use their clutches? Cause they are paid to, Im sure.

I use CLutchmasters, and love it.

i use a SPEC clutch. i have a stage 1 right now and i love it, but im making too much power for that one now, so im upgrading to a stage3 from them. The only way to know which u like better is to fell them for yourself. I personally don't like the heavier pedal of an ACT2600. So im going with a sprung 6 puck setup. holds lots of power and doesn't have a heavy pedal. But it also engages harsher than a 2600 because it's a 6-puck. It's all preference man, just find someone with both clutches and see which u like better.

honestly thats what you have to do...I have an ACT 2100 and its so easy its like stock...when its time for me to upgrade again...I'll probably go with a 2600 cause that probably the most I will need.

Has any one tried the new RPS clutches. They are supose to be really good. I do not know to much about them thoguh.

Spec clutch all the way baby... stock feeling... grabs hard at redline.... will not slip i am using stage 2 on my 98 n\t ... i did a nonmodular style switching to a fidanza flywheel 8.5 pound....

just a suggestion

After going through 3 2600s this year (street discs only last me 2-3 months before I hit the rivets, even if they dont start to slip) I'm looking to try something new. I've looked at spec, RPS, HPF, CM, etc. I think I may try the RPS 2500 with SPRUNG 6 puck (why cant ACT offer this?) based on some feedback I got from the 3kgt guys, whos cars are even hevier than my fat ass 2g. There isnt a lot of feedback out there, so we'll see how it goes.

Because you've got a 6-bolt, you can get any clutch you want without worry that it will contribute to crankwalk. The ACT 2600 is very common and seems to work well but I've been on a Centerforce 2500 for about 10k now and love it. Very stock feeling and not bad for in traffic driving and grips like all hell when you want it to. I can chirp all 4 of my 225s in 2nd gear with it on a relatively small turbo setup. In the end I'd do a search and read other's impressions and the pros and cons to each before making a decision.

CFDF is a great clutch --- I've had one for roughly a month now, and it satisfies all of my needs for daily driving and an occasional launch here and there. If you want to launch repeatedly, go for an act 2600 as it can handle repeated launchs better than a CFDF.

good luck

cfdf sucks no offence jeff... i had one in my non turbo for 3 months and got clutch chatter and blew the pressure plate off the flywheel... its garbage.. ive seen mad people having problems for it... idk if its good for the 4g63...

My stock clutch has recently taken a crap on me:cry: . My mods are pretty few but more will be added soon. I was thinking of getting the ACT 2600 with the six pluck but I am not sure if that would be too much for every day driving. This is my daily driver, but like I said I do plan on doing more mods so should I get the 2600 with the six pluck or a street disk, or the 2100 or what. Looking for suggestions I don't have that much knowledge of clutchs. Any info would help thanks.

yea. since you have a 2g crankwalk is an issue. I know its over rated but still needs to be thought about. With the 2600 you will be putting more load on the crank possibly causing crankwalk. I would think about this clutch here

half way down the feramic clutch. Its what i have in my car and its a great clutch. NO break in required (although i did a 100mile one on mine) and i have pulled low 1.7 60fts on this clutch and it has 20k miles on it right now. Great clutch and is a great alternative to the 2600
