where to get an eclipse car cover? [Merged 1-8]

I use my cover in the winter when we're expecting a decent storm...It's easier to get the snow/ice off the next day. That comes with some conditions though...the car has to be fairly clean and dry. If it isn't clean and dry, I just have to deal with a snowed in car :(

I used one for a winter.. pain in the butt. You have to keep all the snow off it or else water will develop between the cover and the car (no matter what cover you have). My final straw was when the cover split as I was cleaning wet heavy snow off it one day. :notgood:

Weird, I never once have had any problems with moisture developing between the cover and the car...and I've used my cover for quite a few storms

That's what happens with cheap car covers. You need to get a better one that is meant for outdoor use and they cost upwards of $200. I got mine at www.autoanything.com and it was $250. It's the Ultraguard one. Other than the fact that it was red and faded to a ###, pink color, it works very well through all four seasons, even with heavy snow.

yeah, mine ended up costing about 250 bucks...got mine from griotsgarage.com . It was the NOAH cover to be exact....here's the description they give for it:

NOAH® COVERS FOR ALL-WEATHER PROTECTION
All the protective benefits of Evolution® with one third less weight and bulk! Ideal for long term outdoor use, rainy areas or inconsistent weather patterns. Can't run outside and pull off your cover when it gets wet? With NOAH®, you can leave it on day after day. Breathes to allow evaporation of trapped water or condensation.

Yes, it's called a polyethylene tarp, and it's terrific for getting that tawdry paint off the nice, shiny metal underneath.
Read the hype in the eBay car cover auctions. Most of it is accurate.

Now I know this is waking the dead but I think this is the right place to ask seeing as this whole thread is dealing with car covers. I have the blitz body kit on my car and I was wondering if they made car covers that fit my car? I looked on ebay even and didn't find anything so does anyone know if such a thing is made or am I just out of luck?

Any stock eBay cover should be able to deal with the bulk of an ugly body kit. Sorry, I meant custom add-ons that look like crap. Oh, dammit.
Unless you have some picnic-table wing, it won't be too big to cover.

I found some decent ones from empire. This cover was a replacement cover for a custom cover that cost three times as much and started leaking water and collecting dust under the cover in less than a year. My Empire cover is 4 months old, has survived numerous strong thunderstorms and seering Texas sun, and so far is exceeding my expectations. I have 3 cars under cover, soon the other two will be covered by Empire.

If it's outside, count on replacing a cover every year. The dirt, bird bombings and sun damage are amazingly destructive.
Most cheap covers are now made of odd things like recycled soda bottles, and don't react well to being laundered- they come out feeling like thin cardboard and turn tough. So I've just switched to the $30 Budge covers from Wal*Mart.
